Freeport is a very depressed economy. Private corporate governance has catered to the trade business and brought in massive profits with little trickle down benefits for the average island inhabitant. All middle class homes have tall fences with outward facing barbed wire atop them. Most buildings are in disrepair and are uninhabited. Major storm damage from Hurricane Matthew is evident everywhere you look.

Plan an excursion here. Port is some shops and a couple of bars. No beach’s. No parks. We did shop around the port and then spent some time on the ship.

Loved Freeport. We did a Dolphin Encounter excursion that was perfect. Even if we didn’t do the excursion I would have loved to walk around Freeport a little bit.

We did not really care for this Port. Visually when you arrive there is not much at the port so don't expect to walk around and kill time. We walked the little market in about 5-10 minutes and then needed to find something to do. We did not have an excursion planned but we did take a taxi from the port to Pirates Cove and enjoyed the beach for a little while. They also had some shops, food and drinks. As well as the opportunity for water sports.

It was a great location to visit. The people were friendly. Again, we took an excursion to tour the island and visit the Garden of the Groves. Our bus and tour guides were again, very informative and talked about all the things the used trees to help.

We didn't do an excursion here. The only thing to do that wasn't an excursion was going to the shops at this port where it is industrial. Most of the little shops at port have the same stuff, just had to find the ones who were cheapest. This is where we bought most of our small gifts for family.
