This is my second cruise with Carnival and on The Elation ship. It was a great time and a relaxing break from our busy lives. The food was amazing and the drink package was great. We are looking forward to our next cruise!
Embarkation
5 out of 5
We showed up a few minutes before our scheduled arrival time and were able to quickly check-in and walk on the ship. The crew was quick to grab our bags to be delivered to our rooms when they were ready. I would suggest to pack a swim suit/change of clothes in your personal bag you keep with you as it did take a couple hours for them to deliver all bags, but it was nice to not have to lug them around the ship.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
5 out of 5
We ate in the dining room every night and the meal options were great. During the day we enjoy the taco at Blue Iguana and burgers at Guy's Burgers and those were also delicious!
Onboard Activities
5 out of 5
Lots of great activities. We enjoyed the hot tubs in the Serenity area (21+). I used the gym one morning and there were lots of equipment to use and it was clean. The casino was definitely a hot spot as well, we did get lucky and left up some. Be prepared this is a smoking area, although there is some ventilation.
Entertainment
5 out of 5
Our favorite was the comedy club. We went to all the 18+ shows and seriously laughed so hard! One other show we enjoyed was the love and marriage game show and they was very entertaining.
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
We had great friendly staff the whole trip.
Ship Quality
5 out of 5
Once you took the time to understand the layout of the ship it was easy to get around and from our perspective was always clean. We took advantage of using the steps a lot to not have to wait on elevators but after all the good food and desserts it was needed!
Cabin / Stateroom
5 out of 5
The bed was surprisingly comfortable. The bathroom and the room were all clean when we arrived and were maintained throughout the trip.
Ship tip
If you want to check your luggage when you arrive to have delivered to your room be sure to pack a swim suit and change of clothes. It can take up to a few hours after rooms are available to get your bags so you don't want to miss time in the sun because you weren't prepared. When we go off the ship we chose to take out luggage with us to not have to search for it at the port. You may want to attend the disembarkation seminar, we did not and were a bit confused on the plan to get off the ship.
We arrived the evening before the cruise. I used to live here and love this city. I suggest staying either close to downtown (Riverside has some great restaurants/bars, the Landing on the river is always nice to see) or close to Southside (again great food/bar options).
We did not really care for this Port. Visually when you arrive there is not much at the port so don't expect to walk around and kill time. We walked the little market in about 5-10 minutes and then needed to find something to do. We did not have an excursion planned but we did take a taxi from the port to Pirates Cove and enjoyed the beach for a little while. They also had some shops, food and drinks. As well as the opportunity for water sports.
You will arrive in downtown Nassau which had a lot of shops and restaurants to enjoy. We spent about an hour or so downtown and then jumped on the water taxi over to Paradise Island to Atlantis. We did not plan an excursion but knew we wanted to end up at Atlantis. A day pass when you arrive is $135 each (includes: casino, pools, lagoon, beach, water slides and aquarium) if your cruise offers this cheaper I would encourage. Although it was pricey it was so beautiful and we really enjoyed it!
