Our snorkeling excursion was cancelled due to weather, so we rented a Jeep to drive to a beach. The one we went to was a little disappointing and driving on the island was crazy. We did enjoy the shopping and Senior Frogs. Venders tried hard, bit not that pushy in my opinion. We enjoyed the port.

Very friendly people here! We have taken two excursions while cruising and stopping in Freeport. Every time the local people escorting us on the excursions were very kind and appreciative of tourist. Freeport isn't a port where you can get off the ship and walk to a beach area, but there is shopping and food right at the port. I seemed very safe and comfortable in the shopping area and on the excursions. Love the Bohemian people. They are extremely grateful for tourist.

If you've been to Freeport, you get it. It's just a circle of souvenir shops, a couple bars, and some fruit stands in what is basically a large parking lot in an industrial part of the island. We got off for a couple hours, did some more shopping and got a drink at a bar, but we ended up going back on board early and taking a nap instead.

This would have been our best stop easily... if transport had been handled just a little better. We did the dolphin swim excursion, which was mostly great, but they rushed us out at the end, saying our transportation was waiting. It wasn't. We waited 2 hours on the stupid bus. If there had been more to do where we were, it might have been OK, but there was nothing. Ended up spending most of our time in port waiting.

The worst port by far I've ever visited. I've cruised in the Bahamas before and the Caribbean/Mexico. Our ship didn't get to visit Half Moon Cay because of the weather and the waves so we was directed to Freeport so we could have a full 2-port itinerary. We was looking forward to Half Moon Cay and this replacement port was definitely a bust. You have to book an excursion to do something interesting but they are expensive. There is nothing around the port except for ship yards and industrial platforms. If at all possible, stay away from Freeport.
