Half of the island was closed due to construction including the nature trail. Before the trip, I asked a RCCL rep if fishing was ok to do. Upon arrival was told 2 times that fishing was not allowed. One even wanted to confiscate my rod for the day. Wasn't happening. With my wife unable to partake in water activities other than swimming, fishing was to be our only option. Very disappointing place, especially with watching all the game fish in the water.

The island is beautiful however make sure you eat before getting off the ship the lunch provided is not that great. Also be prepared to spend money because none of the activities are free. The bars are spread apart so it’s a lot of walking back and forth. Please don’t buy anything from that straw market they make their own prices and it’s ridiculous. The straw market in Nassau is 100% better and they actually go down on the prices. I’ve been three times and the construction of the island and dock are still not completed.

Get off the boat early! Nothing is included, other than towels & chairs. The cost of everything else is not too bad, but adds up. At $40/pp to rent snorkel gear for the day, it ended up being very expensive for 3 people to use it for an hour. Definitely take the glass bottom boat tour and book online before you go. It sold out before other family could get tickets on the ship.

Cococay has improved a lot since I went there on this trip, but it was a fun little beach trip. lots of beaches to hang out on and chairs. The food on shore was good. Was able to find a hammock to lounge in for a while and the wild chickens weren't evil and chasing people. The water was really cold (but it was January) so snorkeling wasn't very fun, even though I tried.
