Stunning town, fantastic people! We walked around and checked out downtown in the am and then had a walking tour of old Sydney in the afternoon. Absolutely recommend this tour. Our guide, Jay, was so very knowledgeable and fun and he introduced us to some great people and history! Make sure you do this tour and say hello to the 'Ragin' Cajun'! Oh my she was a hoot and seemed like such a beautiful person!

We weren’t expecting much here as we had been told that it was a very quiet little town, but we were surprised to find a car show going on, all along the main road.

We took tour to Baddeck on Cape Breton to visit Alexander Graham Bell Museum and Historic Site. It was raining but great day for 45 min bus ride to Baddeck & 2-3 hours in museum & 45 min ride back to Sydney. Bell's life story is fascinating. Learned so much.

Enjoyed the Alexander Graham Bell Museum. Took the option to walk to town and have lunch then meet the bus to return to the ship. Happy we did that as it gave us time to have lunch and enjoy the local shops.

Louisbourg and Baddeck are both great attractions but you need to travel to them. Sydney has a few small charming attractions but they are limited. We stopped in at a used clothing store called Gala(re) and had a riot. Awesome selection and pricing and the owner needs to be on a reality tv show.

Not a lot to see in the immediate port area, although there is a nice park next to the pier. My family did not do a Princess excursion. We booked a semiprivate van tour with Cabot Discovery Tours, which I highly recommend. Our tour was a drive along parts of the scenic Cabot Trail. The views were very beautiful, and we were lucky to have fabulous sunny weather. The trail is somewhat far from the port, but it was worth the trip in my opinion. Being in a small group made it easy for us to make multiple photo stops, including at some places a large bus wouldn’t be able to get to. The pace was much more comfortable and relaxed than the Princess excursions we went on during the cruise. We were able to enjoy a good, almost leisurely lunch at a local restaurant with a nice view of the water. Again, I highly recommend Cabot Discovery Tours based on our experience.
