The port had some great shops. The town is kind of sleepy. Going up to Captain Cook Monument had a great overlook. The sail in and out is beautiful and the tender ride back and forth was fun.

The people of the city tried very hard to make the port feel welcoming. I would suggest taking an excursion here as there ins't much to see around the city. It really isn't historic. You want to get out of town so that you can potentially see moose, caribou or whales.

Corner Brook is a friendly little town. They were so glad to see "outsiders", we walked everywhere. The leaves were spectacular. The colors took your breath away. We went to the craft show in The towns square, drank beer and ate Moose Soup at the local Legion Hall, and had some great conversations with the locals who have chosen a slower, quieter life. I think they were more impressed to meet people from Los Angeles than when you go to China, or Europe, or Tierra Del Fuego.
