Out of the three ports, this was my least favorite. Personally, I don’t like the feeling of the small, mom and pop city, but others may. Our excursion, on the other hand, was on “Oli’s Trolley” and it was a 10/10 experience. We went through Acadia National Park and downtown Bar Harbor, and the tour was excellent! Stunning views, but there are typically a lot of tourists. Outside of that, if you don’t have Verizon, you will be struggling to post images on Facebook/Instagram, as the coverage is absolutely terrible and there aren’t any places that offer free WiFi.

Bar Harbor was the stop I most looked forward to. The fact that we had to go through an on board customs process first thing in the morning was not enjoyable, although necessary. We also needed to tender to land, so getting going took some time. We booked our own Ollie's Trolly 4 hour tour of Acadia National Park. Although the overcast day put some damper on things, it was a wonderful way to get a flavor of the park. After lunch it poured rain, so our planned shopping the streets of Bar Harbor was cut short.

The worst part of this stop was the boat tendering. With the limited number of hours for this stop, you'll waste about an hour's worth of time for outbound/inbound boat tendering. But that not the ship's fault for a shallow water port. While here, you need to eat a Maine Lobster, that's if your not allergic to it. The tour we had was more on watching seaside cliffs. There's a lot shopping places you can go near the port area with good prices. Also you must try the Mt. Desert Island Ice cream. The ice cream are all made locally in Maine.

We have previously vacationed on MDI, and since Bar Harbor is small there isn't much to do, unless you go into the national park, which is beautiful. We took the trolley around town and learned some interesting tidbits and had a scampi lobster roll at Testa's by the wharf.
