We only went from the train to the ship. One of the highlights of the trip was the domed train that we went from Denali Park to Whittier. It was scenic, comfortable and the food was great

Had the pleasure of taking the train to Whittier from Anchorage. The boarding process was simple and easy. I would have liked to pick my own seat though. The train was slow but the guide gave lots of information and we had some beautiful views riding to port. I was unable to catch the picture of the moose but seen it and some other wildlife.

I loved Anchorage. I would love to go back and visit again and use it as a spring board to see other parts of Alaska. We stayed at the Captain Cook. Very clean. We had a corner room with an awesome view. We ate at the Glacier Brew House. The food was wonderful.

This Port is small but mighty. The town of Whittier has a military history that is interesting and a fun museum a long walk from the ship but is worth it in the end.

We actually arrived a day early and spent overnight at Captain Cook Hotel in Anchorage. We took the Alaska Railway train to Whittier to catch the ship, which was the absolute best thing to do! The scenery and especially the company of the other passengers made this a must-do!!! Princess Cruise took care of everything, our airport transfer, hotel, hotel transfer, the Train to Whittier, and transfer to the ship. They made everything so special and EASY for us!! Once we got to Whittier, the embarkation itself was really a piece of cake and took literally 5-10 minutes from start to finish!!! I think it was very helpful that we had completed all of the requirements in the Medallion application before leaving home. We also had a printout of all our documentation (courtesy of our awesome travel agent). Very noteworthy, the embarkation was so quick, had time for delicious Pizza at Alfredo’s while waiting for our cabin to be ready.

Did not spend much time in Whittier but spent a few days in Anchorage. Enjoyed visiting Ship Creek and watching the salmon fishing and walking around town.
