This was our favorite stop. We took a private tour of the town. Very cute with a lot of history!

Ketchikan is a beautiful Alaskan city. It's what I would expect given the description of this part of Alaska and the wonders of nature that we were told about beforehand. We took a float plan excursion, separate from Celebrity, and saw brown bears. We ate tons of salmon and explored the town. Creek Street is a must.

In Ketchikan, we did an all-you-can-eat crab feast then rode in a seaplane over the area. Our original excursion was cancelled, which was the Misty Fjords seaplane. The crab was the absolute best we have ever eaten! However, we really would have liked to see more on the seaplane. It was a nice time, though!

Another great port that was right at the disembarkation pier. A bit more touristy. Go to the Creek Village area for the best views and shopping.

We did the Mountain Point Snorkeling Excursion, which I can't find on here, but it's with Snorkel Alaska. It was terrific. The guides were very helpful. We got to see a lot of marine life and the 7 mm wetsuits made it so you weren't even cold! I highly recommend this excursion to all. Also shopped a the local Blasphemous Bills, which had a great selection of jade carvings and other rocks. And then the Rain Barrel had really neat ivory pieces. Everyone was very friendly!

Ketchikan was beautiful. We saw the lumberjack show, which was great, but we will check out the water excursions next time. After seeing ads through the cruise line, I think we missed out on seeing some amazing scenery and wildlife.

Our Seaplane excursion was canceled due to weather but it’s Alaska and weather is unpredictable. So our alternative was to walk into town which honestly is nothing but a tourist trap with a jewelry store or junk store every few feet. But we did find Fat Stan’s pub and had great Bloody Mary’s, pizza, beer and excellent service. Highly recommend this place if you need a “Plan B”!

Town is a tourist trap. Avoid shore excursions to anyplace the city bus goes. For $2 round trip you can go to Totem Bight State Park and Potlatch Park.

So easy to explore on foot. Walk up the hill to see the beautiful totems in the museum.
