Small cute town which I loved. My only wish was that we would have had more time to explore. With the short time frame that the ship stopped here it only allowed for a hurried walk around town before we saw the Lumberjack Show (which was short otherwise we probably wouldn't have really had any time in the town). We planned for a quick excursion because we knew time was limited and this show worked with that. The show was only a quick walk (maybe 5 minutes) from the port. We loved the show and found it highly entertaining. Great for families and all ages. It happened to be the only rainy day we had on our trip and pretty cold but one of the best things was that although the show is outdoors they did an amazing job keeping everyone warm and dry. You sit on covered bleachers that have heaters near the ceiling that actually kept us pretty warm and for those that were in the first few rows they provided wool looking blankets for them to wrap up in during the show! Great added bonus and much appreciated! The show is a little corny but that's what I kind of expected but it was still very fun to watch and worth the ticket cost. You get to cheer for your lumberjack while booing for the other one...to see which one is the winner of each of the events! After the show make sure you leave time to check out the gift shop, lots of cute knickknacks and such.

Clicked on "Did not visit this port" but cruiseline.com keeps insisting I gave it one star. Disregard this rating for this port - we did not visit here...We stayed on board, and it was pretty rainy that day - turned out to be a great day for us to relax in the spa. A lot of other people had loads of fun in town though.

Unfortunately, the last time I was in Alaska I missed Ketchikan because I made the mistake of notifying Medical that I was sick. But it was due to my history of Colitis and I was food poisoned by the lunch I had at the hotel prior to my boarding the ship. Without even checking me out by the Medical staff (it wasn't NCL) they decided to quarantine me for 24 hrs. I missed my excursion. This time we looked forward to seeing it but it was cancelled due to weather and the schedule was messed up. Very disappointed. So I will not go to Alaska again.
