Transportation into town is a long wait but walking to town is a couple of miles uphill. The signs were confusing at first of how to get on the the main road to walk to town. Next time I'll wait for the bus! ha

Much larger city than Skagway, but that really just meant more gift shops, excursion operators and jewelry stores. We did ride the trolley to the top of Mt Roberts where we were able to do some sightseeing as it overlooked the bay in places. Since Juneau is the capital, we were also able to walk around the city to see the capital building, etc. but this was our shortest time at port, so we didn't explore everything.

We did the mendenhall glacier & whale watching. Saw lots of humpback whales, a seal, and even an orca. boat was comfortable and good staff.

We took a floatplane over 5 glaciers and it was amazing. We took a city bus part way up to the Mendenhall Glacier and walked the rest of the way which was about 1 1/2 miles.. We took alternative transportation back as we were worried that we might miss the ship.
