Juneau was wonderful. We had great weather and choose the "best of Juneau" tour. All of the tour guides were very nice, knowledgeable and friendly.

We went on the Mendenhall glacier hike (strenuous but well worth the effort) and also on the afternoon whale watching trip. Both were excellent.

Very nice port. Lots of things to visit in the area. We took the tramway on our own and went for a hike at the top of the mountain. We took an excursion to the salmon hatchery and the Mendenhall glacier. For knitters and quilters/sewers, there is a nice store with lots of beautiful fabrics, yarns, embroidery etc, just a few minutes from the port. The name is Changing Tides.

This city is great. A lot going on, so don't get hooked by the jewelry stores unless you really are there to buy, they take up to much of your time and keep trying to sell you anything. Try the lift to Mt. Roberts it is a great site, but too cloudy for my taste. So we opted for Mendenhall Glacier w/Nuggets fall (do this early morning, not that many people) and to do some Whale watching. Those two activities were great for our day in Juneau. For the rest of the afternoon we spent some time in Juneau eating King Crab legs, definitely a must.

We did the whale watching excursion. It was well worth the price. It was exciting!! The scenery was great. We had great weather, captain, narrator and "Chip" the naturalist. We were lucky enough to see a pod of Orca's. The only problem, we didn't have enough time to go into the town. The Gray Line bus driver, Matthew, gave us a mini tour to and from the boat.

We did the dog mushing camp booked thru the ship. We had so much fun. Learned a lot from the mushers, got to pet the dogs and play with the puppies.
