Celebrity Eclipse

7 Night Alaska Hubbard Glacier (Vancouver Roundtrip)

Review summary

This was a very nice cruise. Nice itinerary! The landscapes were breathtaking! We were extremely lucky with the weather at every port of call. The inside passage was done mostly in the fog, both ways. We got close to the Hubbard glacier and the captain turned the ship around and stayed there for a while. Great experience!

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
We ate mostly at Luminae and we had some issues with some diet requirements. It took many tries to resolve them but it eventually worked out fine. They did their best to accommodate us.

Michael's Club

3 out of 5

I’m sorry to only give 3 stars to this area but we couldn’t really spend time there because of a bad smell. We just went in and out to get some drinks to go. The staff was great!

Tuscan Grille

4 out of 5

Nice view, nice staff, very accommodating! Food was ok.

Cafe al Bacio and Gelateria

4 out of 5

Service was quick. Staff was nice. Sometimes under stocked and busy.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
I only did the glass blowing and loved it. I didn’t give 5 stars because no other activities interested me.

Lawn Bowling

5 out of 5

I did the hot glass class, located at the lawn bowling level, and that was amazing! You are helped by talented glass artists and can take home a beautiful piece of your choice.

Always cleaned quickly.

Ship tip

Make sure you look outside often. You’ll never know what you’ll see. A few hours after leaving the Hubbard glacier area we passed a huge chain of mountains. It was gorgeous and nobody was out on the deck. Also, take the glass blowing classes! I noticed that the shelves at the library were emptying quickly. Pick your books early!

Ports of call

Juneau, Alaska

Very nice port. Lots of things to visit in the area. We took the tramway on our own and went for a hike at the top of the mountain. We took an excursion to the salmon hatchery and the Mendenhall glacier. For knitters and quilters/sewers, there is a nice store with lots of beautiful fabrics, yarns, embroidery etc, just a few minutes from the port. The name is Changing Tides.

Ketchikan, Alaska

5 out of 5
Very pretty port! We went to Saxman native village to see totems, totem carving and dance show by Tlingit natives. Very nice yarn store called Fabulous Fiber Arts, about 10 minutes walk from the ship. Lots of Alaska dyed yarn!

Icy Strait Point (Hoonah), Alaska

5 out of 5
Very quiet port in the middle of the wilderness. Take an excursion because there isn’t much in port.

Vancouver (Canada Place), British Columbia

5 out of 5
Nice port, lots to see and do in town!
