Loved this pristine area of Alaska. We took the scenic walk on our own to Hoonah! Beautiful. Saw local craftsmen at work and had an amazing lunch at the Fisherman's Daughter!

Icy Strait Point is pretty much a made-for-cruise spot. We did not like it. We walked about 1.5 miles to Hoonah (there is also a shuttle). Hoonah is NOT a cruise port but a working small commercial port. We really enjoyed the crab lunch at The Office. It is a local bar that gets some tourist traffic. If you stop at Icy Strait Point, head right to Hoohah.

I did a non-NCL excursion in Hoonah which was excellent. I loved learning about the culture of the area and did not find it commercialized like typical ports. A definite favorite despite the liquid sunshine. Saw a couple of bald eagles from the ship.

Great little port stop. Very nice area for shopping and sightseeing. Didn't do an excursion here. Just took the bus into town. Stopped at a couple pubs for drinks and treats. Bought several souvenirs.
