My partner fished here independently (He brought along a fishing pole that needed to be checked by security but he could take off ship when he wanted)

A real disappointment. Not much there. Some people took the zip line and liked it. We did get to see an eagle, and whales were near the ship in port.

Not much to do here. I would have rather have 2 days in Juneau, Anchorage or Victoria instead of stopping in Icy Straight or Kodiak.

This stop was a bonus for us. The views from the ship were great. Just sitting out and taking in the natural beauty was enough. The short hike into the forest was well worth the time/effort. It was like walking into the magical forest of our childhood. The boat tenders getting us to shore were a bit of a problem, but the wait was worth it. Returning to the ship was much easier.

Best whale watching; feeding in coves among seals and otters. Beautiful. Take smaller excursions - boats go closer to shore and whales. Don't do the cruise excursion - large boat and crowded.
