Good cruise very crowded.
This was a Thanksgiving cruise. We cruis3 to 4 times a year but never on a holiday cruise week. The ship was very full with 2970 people on board. It felt crowded except early in the morning. Although we had a good time, we will not do another peak week again.

Great ports ship is ready for dry dock!
We usually prefer longer cruises primarily because the shorter ones tend to have a lot of "party people". I do not have an issue with the party atmosphere but too many drunks and rude people.
Longer cruises tend to be fun without the gotta get it all done in a few days partying mentality.

This 3 day cruise way originally suppose to go to Cuba
We do not usually do 3 and 4-day cruises because of the heavy partying and demographics. We booked this one exclusively to go to Cuba. Once Cuba was pulled we decided just to continue on and keep the reservation. Big mistake.

Carnival Ecstasy
Sail date: February 13, 2017
We have sailed out of Charleston many times. We drove from Greenville SC to Charleston the night before and stayed at the Fairfield Inn near the Tanger Outlets. The $179.00 rate included parking and transportation round trip to the Port of Charleston. The Ecstasy just came out of dry dock in January and bring a frequent cruiser on Carnival I expected the ship to be more spruced up. Since we had a Pack and Go special we were assigned cabin R248. The lowest deck and the last cabin on the port side. The room was nice the room steward was great! We were concerned about the engine noise but it was not a problem. The only noise was the side thrusters that were utilized when coming into port. Good wake up call!
The food and service were very good. As I mentioned for coming out of dry dock the ship still seemed tired in appearance.
Nassau: We have been here many times. We bypass the hackers and wale to Junkaroo Beach! It's about a 15 minute walk from the ship. If you go there check out the Bikini Tiki Hut bar. They have the best deals on drinks in Nassau period.

Stay away from the Victory until shes refurbished.
We had a late flight and chose a 10 best of Miami excursion. It was very informative and Little Havana was a blast!
Amber Cove (Puerto Plata), Dominican Republic
Did the catamaran and snorkel tour. We had a great time!
Best Mojitos!
Way too busy with two ships. We arrived late so the beach chairs were all taken. We did not get off the ship.
We love to shop in this port.

Always have a good time in Cozumel. The late arrival did not allow us to visit Mr. Sanchos

Although the service was great the ship is pretty run down.
Bypass the hecklers, walk out, take a right and head to Junkaroo Beach, next to the Hilton hotel. Nice beach with a great view of the cruise ships. Look for the Bikini Tiki Bar and check out their specials. Nothing fancy, but the best prices for drinks in Nassau.
