YES..ANOTHER OUTRAGEOUS FEE...

https://www.cruisehive.com/norwegian-cruise-line-introducing-new-fee-guests-will-not-like/89662

This is/was how we ALWAYS start our day..CCL makes you call room service, instead of the old-school hang tag...but we were able to call them day one and set it up for the week. still free...that was OCT...now, NCL (still uses hang tags) might include a $5 fee, depending on the ship..whatever that means..(mebbe they couldn't get the hang tags printed in time).... That pot o coffee and danish or fruit out on the balcony at 6ish is a "thing" with us while cruising. We also tip whomever brings it $2.. amazing how that lil gesture means to them. (THEN we head out for a real breakfast...usually O'Sheehans or the MDR, depending on our mood..oink oink...) .Can't bring myself not to tip the poor so and so's who deliver it...and can't really get so rediculously cheap to not order it...so I guess I'm just venting..............

Ya think so? Check out this article.

Isn't Princess considered a "higher end" line?

More and more of the "inclusive" rate is being diluted. They'll have to be careful or people will start migrating away from ships to land based vacation options. Or there will always be the higher end lines which have retained full inclusive packaging.

I want to say in 2014 RCI instituted a $7.95 charge for all room service, save for breakfast.

I could imagine them doing the same for breakfast in the near future.

Yeh, you guys are both right....I still remember waaay back in the day putting my wallet and cash and keys and such in the safe for the first time...not to be seen till the end...then I started watching what other more experienced cruisers did re tipping..and several conversations later, after doing some research, i realized how to do it. That line item for "extra" isn't it...you're NOT likely to see them again...well mebbe, but there ARE a handful of folks you ARE likely to see again, depending on how and where you spend your time.....so the past several years I make sure I have an assortment of greenbacks in my pocket...all i'll say is IT WORKS...yeh, I might go $3..............

Not unexpected. Actually surprised they waited this long to introduce it. More a la carte.

Now they have something else to offer as a perq or package or new awards item ...

Shocking!

I'm wondering if the article's question about whether or not the fee is permanent is merely wishful thinking. You yourself had stated many times that these new charges are here to stay. Hey, it's up to you to help pay off their debts (where else are they going to get it).

Now, due to the higher cost of living, perhaps that $2 tip should now be $3. Just sayin.
