YES..ANOTHER OUTRAGEOUS FEE...

https://www.cruisehive.com/norwegian-cruise-line-introducing-new-fee-guests-will-not-like/89662

This is/was how we ALWAYS start our day..CCL makes you call room service, instead of the old-school hang tag...but we were able to call them day one and set it up for the week. still free...that was OCT...now, NCL (still uses hang tags) might include a $5 fee, depending on the ship..whatever that means..(mebbe they couldn't get the hang tags printed in time).... That pot o coffee and danish or fruit out on the balcony at 6ish is a "thing" with us while cruising. We also tip whomever brings it $2.. amazing how that lil gesture means to them. (THEN we head out for a real breakfast...usually O'Sheehans or the MDR, depending on our mood..oink oink...) .Can't bring myself not to tip the poor so and so's who deliver it...and can't really get so rediculously cheap to not order it...so I guess I'm just venting..............

Uh oh - I didn't realize "pre-breakfast" was for the retired community 😳 Since I am not yet a member of that group, do I have to go back to only 1 morning coffee time?! I don't think I can do it, lol!!

I hear Carnival will be instituting a fee fee. Yup, there will be a fee for the inconvenience of charging you a fee. Kinda like DMV charges a fee for sending you a ticket ( probably where they got the idea.

That is exactly what we do - call it our "pre breakfast." Quite lovely and helps take the edge off while waiting for "real" breakfast in MDR. It's SOP now... 🤭

And here i thought we we the only ones in the world doing that....yep...no matter how long we've been retired, durn near impossible to "sleep late"...just can't do it...soooo...might as well...and THANKYOU ABLEMAN for making me increase my tip to the poor kid who delivers it to $3...last trip suddenly we got the same kid all week, and he arrived early!!! added some chocolate danishes we didn't ask for..didn't have the heart to tell him enoughs enough...so we ate them too...(he said once he "gets us" first)...oh well...so we created a monster for the week...for what? $15?

Agree that charging for items/services that were once included does dilute the "all (mostly) inclusive" concept of cruising, but the real challenge is that the cruise rates are also increasing at the same time as the other charges are being added, so double whammy...

Umm socks with sandles? .. ew .. just ew .. never

Not sure where that came from but as I said ... I hate socks .. therefore wear them as little as possible.

Ive always hated flip-flops/sandals on myself.

Also, Feet gross me out really bad, so i tend to make a point of Not looking at peoples feet. Big Smile

I myself wear Crocs. In my house, Crocs have a life cycle:

Home/Cruise Crocs --->Camper Crocs --->Cabin Crocs.

WHen they hit end of life expectancy(ie: Start to look crappy) they become Camper crocs. Once most of the tread wears out, they become cabin crocs. Cabin crocs are only worn on the porch, and inside. this is where they go to die. LMAO

Seriously???

I hate socks ... on a cruise I wear sandals and flip flops .. except to the dining room .. for that I do shoes and socks ... my cruise ... my choice.

Pretty soon they’ll just have us come down and cook our own meals , and then charge us for the privilege. Or, they could just subcontract with fast food places, so you can order that Egg McMuffin right to your cabin.

Just returned from the Sky Princess. We did book using one of the "plus" specials. Actually, it was fun ordering a drink sitting by the pool, and have it delivered at no extra charge. We usually, added a tip because that's what we like to do (not required by any means). Things are costing more in everyday life, I'm sure the cruise lines are also facing high costs. If you are going to sail, you just need to decide if it's worth it.
