Yeah, those RCL "Central Park" balconies remind me of the Alfred Hitchcock movie "Rear Window"

Perfect Things Which Are Perfect.

When we went to ALASKA we had balconies...well, in all honesty, we always do anyway..But its really special to be able to watch all that scenery glide past while sitting up there in some kind of solitude. You don't have to go ANYWHERE else on the ship to enjoy it. Then the ship eventually does a 180 and you get the other side...Bring your bincoculars...

As far as CCL ships go, I realize some folks have had bad experiences on VISTA, but we've been on her several times, and loved it. But then, we always get a HAVANA balcony (not the patios)...its that ol "cruise within a cruise" thing I guess...

BTW OGW, agree completely........we people watch as much as anyone....but sometimes.....well, nuff said...

Enjoy the balcony ... you may find that you enjoy it and might end up spending time on it. As long as it is not one of those internal balconies that RCL has ... don't know how anyone can enjoy an inward balcony ... way too much exposure

I'm okay with just a ocean view as we really don't spend anytime in the room (other than sleeping). Having said that We have a balcony booked for our Alaskan Cruise in 2023

ABSOLUTELY!

To each their own. We like our balcony because it allows us a quiet place to watch the water and read or relax.

think it's about the Cruise and not the space. Not much time is spent in a room other than sleeping and cleaning up.

We like a porthole, if the price gap between it and an interior is minimal - anything 'above' that, balconies/suites, etc - no interest.

We prefer a balcony… but if cost was no object, I would have a suite every time. I like a lot of space.Big Smilej
