On September 11, here in NY, the beacons were turned on to commemorate the WTC attacks. I took several long exposures, and this one kind of freaked me out. Notice the two light trails, from airplanes that are either taking off or circling our airports. Purely happenstance. I couldn't have planned it if I tried.

Those long exposures are how lightening pictures are captured as well.

There is a third light trail, off in the distance, closer to the airport. It was the other two that caught us by surprise.
