Roll Calls Disappearing from site ?

Is it just me or does it seem like every time you book a cruise and you join your Roll Call, to meet people ahead of time, All of a Sudden the Roll Call goes Silent. I know there are " Other " sites but not everyone is associated with or uses those " Other " sites. Who decides to move it and why ? If you join one, keep it going. Not all of us are 20 years old and live with a cell phone attached to our ear 24/7.

I’m still looking for bubba. If you have the internet, I am usually wearing a Blue Hnights sweatshirt. If I ge my luggage tomorrow, I will be wearing the Cruiseline.Com T-shirt. I would really like to meet you.

The sane goes for the others on the roll call. Please let me know which face to pair with the screen name.

I like seeing who is cruising with me. I try to check out the faces of those who have a photo. But I am bad at remembering when we are on the ship. We did get to meet up with a few last September! It was great fun!

I agree 2OLD, it is what it is...Ill still join ROSTERS, because I think its the only way to get the countdown clock to show up in here..and I like seeing the numbers go down, not just mine, but other folks getting close to their cruises too..like you...

We do not have a fb page. First it took a act of congress to get one with the last name "Player". Had to prove it was my real last name and not a nickname. As many of you have said did not keep long, Shut It Down ! We are of the, lets say, Advancing Age, and don't have time trying to figure out how to read it & keep up with it. It did seem like every time I went to find my Roll Call for upcoming cruises, on past 3 cruises, someone always seemed to move the rc to fb and away everyone went. I did go to 1 under my daughter fb page to spy 1 cruise and they had planned group outings, mix & mingles, ship activities on sea days. I'm assuming it is just easier for Some People, especially our younger crowd, to have to only go to One page, fb, since they are on it majority of time. Than again just my opinion. No way to fix it, just Roll with it. LOL.

Agreed where is everyone

For our October cruise, there is almost no participation. Why start a page and not keep it going? You might not have all the answers but you can ask questions. I don't even know if there is one for our Feb. cruise. Basically, I am agreeing with you that FB pages are iffy. CC Roll Calls can be the same way. Very often the OP starts it and then disappears.

Yes there was...but on a number of others, not so much. Plus, as you know, it was really hard to follow...I tried to answer the occasional question, and I know you participated too...it is what it is I guess...shame is I think I really helped some folks find accommodations and parking for the cruise. Some even acknowledged it. I just think the thing could be better than it is...but if folks won't participate...well...

The thing about FB is that anyone can start a page and there can be several going at a time. They can be hard to find and people start them just to not post. People join the be updated and then nobody contributes. On our Breakaway page we had quite a bit of participation.

I signed up several years ago to spy on my daughter. I pretty much quit using it when I discovered that when I posted a comment to a news site it cross-posted on to fb. Not real good for my job security at the timeBig Smile

I was on FB and quit (it took some doing to actually quit) and I don't miss it, or trust it...nor do I care how often someones grands use the toilet etc etc...I tried it for over a year, and realized it was nothing but a huge time waster. anything i need to know I can get elsewhere online, with no involvement whatsoever...after all this time, I realize there are some really nice folks in here I wouldn't mind chatting with, but if theres no PM, so be it...that decision was obviously made waaaaay back, and I doubt if the powers that be would change it.
