Roll Calls Disappearing from site ?

Is it just me or does it seem like every time you book a cruise and you join your Roll Call, to meet people ahead of time, All of a Sudden the Roll Call goes Silent. I know there are " Other " sites but not everyone is associated with or uses those " Other " sites. Who decides to move it and why ? If you join one, keep it going. Not all of us are 20 years old and live with a cell phone attached to our ear 24/7.

Ours in in NOV...nada...why do YOU think?

Right now I need to use my cell phone because my siblings seem to only text. My Mom is 92 and in poor health, soooo..... anyway I usually only check it a few times per day or use it for traffic updates as we are driving. It isn't attached ti me either. Actually, I have found some fun things on shipmate that I don't usually notice here. Like photos as people post them (lots of towel animals), comments about a particular port, and even some questions I never thought to ask.

No idea. There were some early posts from Ship Mate. Maybe it is the FB page, which is fairly active.

The roll calls on this site are the same as the ones on the Shipmate app - they post across the site and app. I think that if Cruiseline were to make a link to the roll calls it may help. I. The other hand, roll calls across the board seem rot be going the way of the dodo bird. To many folks would rather go to in-your-FacebookSad

Perhaps with increased functionality of the website, and paired increased functionality of the App, traffic could increase.

Some of us just aren’t on FB. I plan to keep it that way for me.

I was on FB and quit (it took some doing to actually quit) and I don't miss it, or trust it...nor do I care how often someones grands use the toilet etc etc...I tried it for over a year, and realized it was nothing but a huge time waster. anything i need to know I can get elsewhere online, with no involvement whatsoever...after all this time, I realize there are some really nice folks in here I wouldn't mind chatting with, but if theres no PM, so be it...that decision was obviously made waaaaay back, and I doubt if the powers that be would change it.

I signed up several years ago to spy on my daughter. I pretty much quit using it when I discovered that when I posted a comment to a news site it cross-posted on to fb. Not real good for my job security at the timeBig Smile

The thing about FB is that anyone can start a page and there can be several going at a time. They can be hard to find and people start them just to not post. People join the be updated and then nobody contributes. On our Breakaway page we had quite a bit of participation.

Yes there was...but on a number of others, not so much. Plus, as you know, it was really hard to follow...I tried to answer the occasional question, and I know you participated too...it is what it is I guess...shame is I think I really helped some folks find accommodations and parking for the cruise. Some even acknowledged it. I just think the thing could be better than it is...but if folks won't participate...well...
