Outraged or Couldn't care less?

What say you?

I am somewhere in the middle. I honestly only really eat escargot on special occasions and on cruises (which is a special occasion all of it's own).

I don't understand. they claimed to stop serving it because of a worldwide shortage..so who are passengers supposed to be outraged at? you think they're lying? we go out of our way to try different dishes that we can't get at home, or won't make. we experiment on cruises, part of the fun.

btw, the link didn't work, so when I googled it, the NEXT story was of MORE interest...seems that CARNIVAL reversed their decision to charge for room service..and recent too...now THAT was caused by thousands of posts/tweets etc expressing outrage over their nickel and diming folks. (BTW, some lines charge, some don't...and the exception is bringing you a continental breakfast early...that's still free everywhere.)

I didn't see they reversed that decision!!! Now that is news! Happy I am headed on a cruise in July with Carnival and was among those sadden and agitated with the price hike.

I posted this story because it came up on my google feed 4 times in a row. I love trying new dishes that i simply wouldn't not make at home. I like how you said "who are they mad at?" Another version of this article I read made a joke about people seeming to be angry with the snails themselves for not procreating at a rate fast enough to be eaten. Happy

Darn, I don't know how to fix the link.

Highlight the link, right click and choose to open link, or copy and paste into the address bar will get you to the page.

Frankly (and I don't even know him), I am completely outraged that Carnival would discriminate against the poor defenseless snails. They have as much right to be served in Carnival's dining establishment as cows, pigs, chickens, fish and other animals I am not sure I am familiar with.

(Actually, I will miss them, but I am not going to change any cruise plans because of it)

Well I for one will not miss escargot. The only place I have had it is in a cruise. What it taught me was, enough butter and garlic almost anything is palatable! But if there is a shortage, the easiest people to blame is the cruiseline.

So I guess I couldn’t care less.Happy

Wow .. that is a shame .. love escargot. Last cruise on Royal in November they served escargot 6 of the 7 nights in the MDR ... I was loving it ..

Maybe that is why the shortage...Royal bought them all...Wink (I said with a giggle).

Youre speaking my language. I eat it all the time when cruising.

Not a deal breaker. Enjoy occasionally.

Couldn't care less, because we don't like Carnival. If it is a shortage, does it affect the other lines too? I love the fact that you said Couldn't care less instead of Could care less. :)

Yankee- btw, the link didn't work, so when I googled it,

Copy/paste it to the URL and it works fine.

Did they have escargot on the Breakaway?

Note: Quote and Reply did not work.\
