ONCE YOU GO BALCONY, DO YOU GO BACK?

My very first cruise was on the Carnival Glory and we had an ocean view room on the Riviera deck. My second cruise I stayed in a balcony room and now I'm stuck, I have not went back to ocean view. But now I'm noticing the price difference between inside cabins and balcony cabins. I am wondering what it will be like to stay in an inside cabin on my favorite deck (Lido) for $444 pp instead of a balcony on the same deck for $709 pp. Have you guys ever went from balcony or suite to an inside cabin? If so, how did you like it?

We have done 3 cruises, 2 with balcony (Alaska and Trans Atlantic) and 1 with inside (Panama). The inside was purposely picked (third cruise) to see if we experienced any real difference. I can say that, to me, there was no real difference as I roam the ship to find events and activities to do. We spend very little time in the cabin. The only real difference I can point to is immediate availability to the outside with a balcony. We have been been stern, forward and mid-ship; I prefer mid-ship or forward (in that order). We have also be up (stern, Upper Verandah, balcony), mid(Upper Promenade, forward, balcony) and lower (mid-ship, inside, Lower Promenade) on the ship. I preferred mid (Upper Promenade, forward, balcony). Yes, there is a lot of walking (also is there a lot of eating). The one thing I can say, a cabin on a cruise beats...........everything!

Me too....lol. I'm hoping to be able to get a Havana Suite on the Carnival Vista

Yes, I no doubt did it backwards by having a Balcony for my 1st cruise. It was lovely and I was instantly spoiled!!! It doesn't take much! lol So after peeking into an inside cabin, there is no way. I have booked my 2nd cruise and it is also a Balcony! Happy I just enjoy being able to go sit outside and have some peace and quiet. The sunrise and sunsets are often amazing! Sometimes it's just the simple things in life......and the chocolate lava cake of course!!! Yummy

Happy Cruising!!!!

I'm spoiled now...balcony forever!!

I had booked an inside cabin the most recent cruise, and I eventually upgraded. I'm sucked into the balcony life...

Have had all different types...inside cabin doesn't bother me ..not claustrophobic at all. I spend very little time in the room.

For certain itineraries (Alaska, Hawaii) we need a balcony but for Caribbean cruises we’ll take an oceanview room unless it’s just a little more than the balcony. We avoid inside rooms – we’ve found it’s way too easy to oversleep without some light coming in.

Same thing I do with the balcony. I am up with the sun while my wife sleeps. The balcony has presented many a beautiful sunrise

The balcony allows me to relax outside early in the morning because I'm an early riser, very early and my DGF likes to sleep in and if I can get comfortable enough, I drift off into a nice nap.

We go inside most of the time. We will treat ourselves with a balcony if the price is right. We can go back and forth. We don't mind an inside cabin. But balcony's are sweet!
