NEW CANCELLATION POLICIES.... .02 appreciated

I've been reading about major changes in just about every lines cancellation policy. We just got an email from NCL offering a full refund in the form of a credit for any sailing between 3/10/2020 thru 9/302020, to be applied toward any cruise thru 12/31/2022. NCL calls it the "PEACE OF MIND POLICY.".We have one coming up in a little more than a month, fully paid for, and another in Nov, with the usual deposit, Of course, there were all kinds of assurances in the email, about the precautions they're taking, and how the CEO is taking a cruise himself with his family, etc etc..I know theres a few in here with bookings on NCL. I would appreciate some input. Frankly, we're tempted to take it. Whats one cruise amongst many?

We make jokes about "the addiction"...We have been lucky in that we've never had to cancel a cruise outright. we've rebooked, and rescheduled, life happens...but THIS is...different. your thoughts??

Not overly impressed with NCL at the moment. Just waited 36 minutes to speak to someone only to be told that if I cancel today I get nothing. I was told that I have to wait until Tuesday March 10. Oddly the policy says you can cancel for cruises sailing on March 10 but those would have to be done on Sunday March 8 which contradicts what I was just told. So .. now I wait till Tuesday

Thanks for the reply. Its much appreciated..I think you need to read the email carefully, and get into the NCL website q/a about it. the start date for actually calling is as I understand it 3/11...if you bought ins thru them that won't transfer, nor will any obc's. Just the amount actually paid. if you have cruisenext coupons involved I'd be curious how that works. If you manage to get thru, pls let us know.

I found this policy on the NCL web site last night and also got the email this morning. We are scheduled to sail in 9 days and my wife has been very anxious about things as virus activity is increasing in the NY area where our ship ports. Needless to say we are going to avail ourselves of this new policy as I am sure a lot of other people as i have been waiting on hold now for 20 minutes. I hate to have to do this as I have been looking forward to this cruise all winter long. But common sense must prevail.
