Navigator of the Seas vs Carnival Radiance

Looking at two 3-night cruises down to Ensenada. The two options are the Royal Caribbean Navigator of the Seas and the Carnival Radiance. It will be myself and my girlfriend both in our mid 30s (no kids). Which does everyone thing is a better choice? Pricing is about the same for either.

We switched from Carnival to Princess, very happy.

I read the reviews, and they ARE a good source...provided you don't run across one who disses the whole ship/line because their soup was cold..or they found a dustball under the bed..usually, the internet is a great place to find chronic complainers..or, on the other hand, folks who absolutely love everything, especially cruises, and then somewhere in the body of the post you discover its their first cruise....thats nice, but not particularly helpful..so whats a body to do? well......

Take your best shot...read, but experiment, those short ones aren't expensive, and thats really the only way to "start" your comparisons..."increasing knowledge is increasingly expensive"...GOOD LUCK!!!

I have been on Navigator twice and it was a spectacular experience both times. We have never sailed on Carnival so I can't make a fair comparison. I do agree with Aunt Pinkie's suggestion that perhaps it is a good time to try RCCL, since you have already sailed on Carnival.

Best of luck and have a great cruise !

I have only done RCCL and not Carnival (being in the UK), and have been on the Navigator a couple of times. Not one of the larger ships (which suits me) but as it is only for three days i think it would be worth finding out first hand if you like Royal. I assume you have not done enough on Carnival to have any nice perks so the comparison should be pretty level. As a brit RCCL is a bit more shinny and in your face than P&O and not as formal either. From what i have read both Carnival and RCCL are similar but not had the first hand experience to tell (yet). What ever yo decide, just enjoy...

Since you have cruised Carnival, maybe now is the time to check out Royal. Whatever you decide, with your positive attitude, it will be fun!

Sounds great thanks all. I've been on Carnival a few times but never royal Caribbean will check the reviews

I've read that both ships have been recently refurbished (within the last 2 years) so they should both offer the latest & greatest amenities.

If you have no experience with either line (or cruising in general) I'd agree with OGW and AP and read reviews, especially the ones offered by people in your age demographic. Although we are partial to the reviews offered on this site, there is another site that we shall not name (it rhymes with "Bruise Riddick"). They also offer reviews of both ships.

I'm sure you'll enjoy whatever ship or cruise line you choose.

I would go with Carnival because I am familiar with them, even though I have not sailed this ship. BUT I am sure if I was a RCCL cruiser I would have chosen them. OldGreyWolf has the best idea to check the reviews. Good luck and please let us know what you decide.

Having never experienced neither ships and venue I cannot provide any guidance but I wish you bon chance on this one. You might try checking out the reviews
