Hi, so I have an upcoming cruise with my parents August 12th from port Canaveral with carnival liberty. This will be our first cruise and I have been filled with anxiety over my dads name! On his permanent resident card he has his first and last name, but on his passport he has has first and his 2 last names. I checked him in with his first and last name like it is on his permanent resident card.I called to make sure this was ok even though he has two last names on his on his pp, and the rep said it was ok. I called again another day and the rep asked me for his second last name. I am still unsure and don’t want to have any problems day ofð if anyone took the time to ready this..thank you.

Give the name on the passport. We had a problem when a friends PP said Johnathan and they registered as John. Better safe then sorry.
Relax and have a great cruise

Use passport names. This should fix things.
Agreed..passport name, exact spelling, is the way to go. Many cruises back, wife didn't use her middle initial on the edocs. so it didn't match her passport...no one ever noticed, several cruises later, one obviously "new" rep at the check in counter had to call her supervisor, who blessed it. since then, we make sure edocs match the passport exactly.
Passport name. The only way to avoid any issues. In any travel situation.
Thank you for replying!!!

Oh man we all have middle names on our pp, should I add them?
Yes it should match exactly...if its no hassle, add them to your edocs for boarding, chances are nobody would've noticed. I can tell you we mustve cruised 1/2 doz times before anyone noticed, including us. But all it takes is one screw up and having to deal with an assortment of people is guaranteed to raise your BP..especially with a few thousand of your newest friends behind you in line....If theres a problem changing the name at this point in time, call the cruise line direct...you didn't invent the wheel on this....
I think we finally have everything recorded the same. You may have a minor problem with the cruise line, but it is better than a major one with Homeland Security. Our minor problem (and fixed with a phone call) was we lost all of our sea days and had only one cruise to our record. Better to match you passport than to match booking.
You have found the "problem" early enough that it can be handled without much fuss.
Enjoy your cruise!
Check in should match PP
I suspect this is the first time the peanut gallery has it as unanimous. Can I stand the strain? hehehe
