Name on check in

Hi, so I have an upcoming cruise with my parents August 12th from port Canaveral with carnival liberty. This will be our first cruise and I have been filled with anxiety over my dads name! On his permanent resident card he has his first and last name, but on his passport he has has first and his 2 last names. I checked him in with his first and last name like it is on his permanent resident card.I called to make sure this was ok even though he has two last names on his on his pp, and the rep said it was ok. I called again another day and the rep asked me for his second last name. I am still unsure and don’t want to have any problems day of😕 if anyone took the time to ready this..thank you.

Passport names. You have to be a citizen of the country in which the passport is issued, therefore a passport is proof of residency, so he would not even need to show his Permanent Resident Card.

Yes, passport names. Yes, middle names when registering online. Just fit what you can; Carnival has a 10 letter limit (Christopher always shows as Christophe). For 2 last names, don’t use a hyphen – I’ve seen them with a space or as one long name.

Update: I could not because it wouldn’t fit

Thank you I’ll be adding my first, middle and two last names tonight xD

The reps who tell you that aren't the ones who check you in, nor are they the occasional HSA agent who may be ;looking over their shoulder. if theres a screw up, be sure to tell them some rep said it was ok...see where that gets you. mebbe you get on, mebbe you don't. Im inclined to think you'll be ok, but, be sure to tell them I said so. Look, peeps change their names outright, let alone a MI or MN.. Marriages, divorces, change of traveling companions (kaff kaff)..theres an edit function somewhere on your personal info page on your cruiselines account. its no big deal. Reservations on cruises are made years in advance. Life happens..

Yes Match PP exactly. I have a friend that goes by his middle name, for travel he uses his full name as on his PP even though he hates his first name.

I don’t know why the reps tell me I don’t need it Crying

Does that include middle name? I’m seeing different answers for that now

I suspect this is the first time the peanut gallery has it as unanimous. Can I stand the strain? hehehe

Check in should match PP
