Looking for a good safe hotel in NYC/NJ

Hi everyone, we are planning our NE/Canada cruise and looking at hotels for the night before. Ideas are welcome! This will be in Sept. Any areas we need to stay away from? We are considering flying in the day before also yo NYC or Newark

Thanks

Brian

FYI. For the people coming to NYC from NJ "10 minutes from the bridge to NY" can easily be an hour or more. Please give yourself time. Depending on the day/time of day getting across the George Washington Bridge can go from minutes to hours.

I've never been to New York, but the TWA hotel at JFK always looked interesting

Secaucus, NJ is across the Hudson from the NY cruise piers. We stayed at the Holiday Inn. Also nearby are Hyatt and Embassy Suites. It was clean and we felt safe there. Lots of restaurants and shops in the attached mall. Check it out on GoogleMaps.......

Good to know. Will keep in mind for future cruise. Thx.

Thanks fellow Brian, will be looking at it!

Best wishes for the cruise!

Hi Brian. In about 72 days we will be checking into the HAMPTON INN RIDGEFIELD PARK NJ. We have heard very good things about this place. It is 10 minutes from the bridge to NY and the Manhatten cruise terminal and they appear to be the only ones that offer a package deal for cruisers which includes the room for the night, plus breakfast plus shuttle to and from the port and parking during the cruise and all of this for a very reasonable price. I work with a few people that have stayed there and heard nothing but praise.

Another Brian.
