I cannot decide between two different cruises and I need help ASAP!! The first cruise is a 14 day Caribbean cruise on MSC Meraviglia leaving out of Miami on january 26th 2020. I have never been on an MSC cruise before. The next cruise is on NCL’s breakaway leaving on January 22nd out of Orlando. It is a 10 day cruise that has a nearly identical itinerary but only has 2 sea days (the MSC has 4). we can afford a mini suite on the breakaway, and we can take all of their current offers (“free” drinks, specialty dining, WiFi etc.) For nearly the same price on the MSC we can afford a regular balcony room with the fantastica package. I am not sure of how much the drinks package would be.

I am so torn on the two. We’ve sailed Norwegian before but have not sailed MSC. We like trying new ships and cruise lines. We also aren’t big drinkers so I’m just not sure that the drinks perk is all that important. I like that the MSC itinerary has sea days breaking up the cruise whereas the NCL cruise visits 6 ports back to back and I know that can be exhausting! What would you pick?

Never been on MSC, but have been on Breakaway. The biggest problem with Breakaway is that the casino is open to the decks above and below it, so you can't avoid the smoke. Also, the MDR as no great shakes, so we only ate there 3 nights. Other than that we had a great time. We always thought that the MSC line was too expensive. If you can get 14 days instead of 10, that would be a big deal for us. We would stay on the ship at Ocho Rios, regardless and we would take Belize over Roatan any day.

Happy cruising!

Enjoy your cruise!

Either for me. My decision would be purely based on the almighty dollar.

Read some ship reviews on cruiseline first. Especially if you're new to a line.

I would go with the longer cruise.... Got any extra room in your luggage to sneak me onboard with you?

Thanks for the update!

Thank you for your help! We went ahead and booked the MSC voyage! I decided that I preferred having more sea days in between the ports. It will give us more time to relax! It was really hard to not go with NCL and it’s perks but we aren’t big drinkers and probably wouldn’t be drinking too much with 6 ports back to back.

I would go with MSC, longer cruise and a new line to choose. MSC used to match your loyalty benefits from any line you can prove to them (not sure if they still do anymore, a phone call will tell you that).

Definitely look at the best bang for you travel dollar. I like longer cruise, but the shorter one with the perks can be a bonus. I have been on NCL and enjoyed it very much.
