Hypothetical querry

When the future rolls around and any kind of fossil fuel will be unavailable, what do you envision cruising to be like?

Will we be cruising on sailing ships like the Windstar line?

Will the vessels be large enough to utilize a nuclear reactor?

and finally.

How do we all get to the terminals??

Thanks

Oh I got that right away...still smiling....as to what others may or may not think about me "in here".....well.....I thought you knew I'm actually an ax-murderer in the guise of a teenage girl. Gotta tell the neighbors about that, but not now, its duck season, they might take it seriously....claim they thought I was a duck in the disguise of a Yankee transplant... ... have another thought about that ship not making port according to her desires, but clearly that belongs on the other thread...

I hope you are all aware that this was just an attempt at humor?

Hey, I was sticking up for you there. Besides, it was not a comment on you per se. I just used you as a gateway to the fact that the poster was unlikely familiar with your style of prose, considering they had just joined the forum this month. It was probably the very first Yankee47 post they had ever laid eyes on (a singularly unique experience in itself I may add).

Come to think of it, I went way out on a limb there. It's not like we actually KNOW each other. We've never met. You yourself have commented many times about the strangeness of cyber. For all I know you could really be the bizarre alter ego of a teenage girl.Big Smile.

And YOU claimed in another thread that I have a unique view of the world???nertz...theres more of us than you'd believe, and the number is growing exponentially....y'know, the one where you believe almost nothing of what you read, and mebbe less than 1/2 of what you see?? The one where EVERYTHING costs too much for its value, and folks keep buying junk anyway, and then wonder why they'll NEVER retire....II know....its MY fault!!!bwahahahahaha

I doubt it would ever be nuclear. Too many potential liabilities and govt regulations for the cruise lines to stomach. Besides, if anything ever went wrong, the company would be known as "the cruise line that killed the ocean". Not an ideal marketing tagline (IMHO of course).

As for getting to the terminal, one word.... teleportation. You could get to the terminal from anywhere in the world in under 10 seconds. The lines could also use it for crowd control on embarkation day. They'd just keep you in "molecular suspension" until it's your turn to be checked in. In fact, I believe I mentioned before that they'll also use it for getting around those big behemoth ships. "Beam me aft Scotty". Hypothetically of course.

You have no idea......Crying

Another guy with too much time on his hands......hypothetically speaking of course....bwahahahahahah

We will cruise via an artificial intelligent headsets in our own living rooms.

Feeling lazy ? OK, your bedroom.

Want to cruise on the moon ? No problem.

Want to help build the pyramids ? No problem.

Want to shoot skeet off the back deck of the ship ? No problem.

Want to stick your finger in the chocolate fountain ? Make sure nobody else is looking.

Want to drop an ice cube on the topless sunbather's back ? No problem. Darn it all !! Another guy. Fourth time this week.

Want to be the first to board the cruise ship ? No problem.

Want to fly in your electric jet pack to the cruise port ? No problem - except the extension cord is only 50 feet long. Ooops !!!
