How much money do you allocate for the casino on your cruise?

My luck never pans out so I usually cap out at $20 just to have a little fun. What's your casino budget when you go cruising? (Also which casinos have you won the most at? I may need some tips.)

If the casinos were smoke free, I’d dabble a little but I can’t handle the smoke. I did play $10 on our 2021 RC cruise and forgot about it until two weeks ago when I got $25 free play if I booked a cruise. Inflationary free play 😂 Thx RC but your inflationary prices are giving me pause on booking.

Not one penny Happy

NONE!!!! Not at all interested in gambling.

I dont gamble. Even with the 25 dollar freebie. I dont get a thrill when i put cash in a machine, eats it and whistle and bells happen.and bingo that is it. no way. when we go to vegas we take in shows and sights, no machine gets our cash. Those fancy resorts are built by gamblers feeding the machines

I am different from most others here. I play for entertainment value. I NEVER plan on winning a cent. I usually play $20-40 at a time, when gone, I leave. If I can play for 15-30 minutes I consider it money well spent for entertainment and potential excitement. Casinos are not there to make me rich. Casinos are designed to take my money. FYI - Vegas, I like. Can play a long time and be entertained. Monte Carlo - I hated. Money in - money lost. Cruise ships have low odds, but the excitement is present. You never know. As others posters have stated - not me.

On my last cruise, Where they lost my luggage, the room was no charge, the rest of the perks were charged. But I always allocate and save before the cruises we take so I can play in the Casino.

I set aside over the savings period 2000.00 US. I have yet to use it all up as usually come close to breaking even on most and on one cruise. paid for the whole thing.

Don't bet more than you have planned to lose. I see it often in the frustrated faces of players.

Perfect advice. The most I’ve been ahead (and brought home) is $1200. I’ve had a few times when it’s been $200-600 brought home. My max to take for betting is $50 for the whole cruise. With the $25 casino credit that we used to get, each cruise only cost me $25. Mostly I break even.

We're guilty of prepaying our next cruise via the casino each trip. So if I had to put a dollar amount on it, it probably works out to $150-200/day.

My 2 biggest win in over 36 cruises have been close to $2000 on a Carnival cruise last year off a slot bonus, and nearly $1400 on a Royal cruise at the Roulette table on series of parley plays. Overall though, we lose most of the time, but a decent amount of times we break even, and every now and then come out ahead

The trick with ship board casinos is to know how comp points are earned and at what level of points you need for the "free" cruise offers. It that math works with your overall budget then go ahead and bet big enough or long enough to get those perks. You also need to be able to walk away if you are winning, not counting on there being a streak. Otherwise just treat the casino as an adult arcade, you might walk away with a nice prize but it's not always worth what you spent to get it through the games.
