They are called Hidden decks yet they are not hidden at all. Usually on deck 6,7,8 depending on the ship. They are forward on the ship facing the bow. You get a straight ahead view being out there and cool for pulling into port. Ever go out on them?

I'll look for one when I'm on the Carnival Sunshine next month.
I've gone out on them when departing the ports since my first cruise. They provide an awesome view.
Yep, every once in a while you can even feel like you’re the only one on the ship for a few minutes!
Deck 10 on the Carnival Glory
On the ms. Amsterdam, it is on deck 3. We go out there all the time during a cruise. We have been out on them also on The Oasis and The Allure.
OOO Where is it on the Oasis, I would love to know!
Yes. Deck 10 in the Island Princess.
Same here... Panama Canal Cruise announced the location so people could spread out a bit more going through the lochs.

On NCL you can only get right forward on the upper decks. On most of their ships you can walk all around on deck 7 but the very nose is closed off and reserved for staff only. That is usually where the crew pool is. You can see it from most of the ship cams.
Googling "Royal Princess L101" brings up some good photos. The balcony is 50% wider and over 100% deeper. The only problem is the rail of the balcony is metal rather than glass.
Also, the room is a bit bigger than a normal balcony room.
They're on decks 15 and 16, so sea spray won't be a problem. The wind may be a problem depending on wind direction, but probably not too bad unless we are heading straight into the wind. So far up and forward, ship movement might be a bit more drastic than I am used to, but it doesn't bother me too much.
Cool. Please post about it when you return. Im curious.
