Fly Day of Cruise or before?

Just curios as to how my fellow cruisers deal with getting to their cruise. if you fly to the cruise do you fly the day of or a day or two before?

We always fly at least the day before. We find it to be a big stress reducer.

When still working flew to cruise day of, whether Caribbean cruise out of Florida, or Europe etc. No other choice. Now that I am retired will always fly in at least a day early, relieves stress. If location is interesting will stay after for touring etc.

we have done the fly in same day thing. too much stress never again. i will fly in a day or so early . make it a pary of the trip. going on a cruise from rome in july will fly in a few days early. i will always suggest to fly in early.

Id rather go early Big Smile

But living Western NY, i countdown by the min until I leave to go anywhere warmer.

Spirit Airlines change our February cruise flight from 7:50 am too

Depart: Cleveland (CLE) 6:35 AM Arrive: Fort Lauderdale (FLL) 9:33 AM soooo

Long nap and hang out by the pool then check in! LOL

Yeah, I hear ya. We have the same situation for our February cruise. Our flight lands at 10PM and the hotel's airport shuttle service only runs to 11PM. I phoned the hotel and they said I can call for a pickup right up to 11PM, but any delays past that time means calling a taxi or Uber. Much prefer getting in at around 2-3PM so we can immediately check in, then either take a quick nap and/or hang out by the pool.

We are supposed to land at 950pm the day before our cruise in April, and even that has me a bit anxious.

day before

With uncertainty on airline performance, crew shortages, weather etc - we don't take the chance and travel the day before.

I know! But until we are within a 5 hour drive to an embarkation port, we’ll just have to fly and/or start several days early.Big Smile

Although it does not apply to me, its a great idea and money saving option also for people who are needy.

As mentioned earlier, we always fly at least a day before the cruise.

Just to relax and unwind and let the hair down, dinner and clubbing. :)

I lead a very hectic lifestyle, working for, and raising money for charity events.

Also my candlelight suppers can be exhausting, meeting so many people that pay for the privilege' of meeting me and visiting my home. I do however, have restrictions on what areas they visit.

Whilst away on vacation, we really enjoy ourselves and have lots of enjoyment and meeting new friends. Just like this forum. Thank you !
