I believe they are parking in Southampton, not NY. They are cruising to NY and visiting family in NJ. That being said, the parking rate at the Red Hook terminal, where the QM2 docks, is $25 / night

Welcome to cruiseline.com, and congratulations on booking your first cruise. What a memorable one it will be, crossing the ocean and then back again. To get your questions answered on your departure port, you might want to search it through Google instead of here. Most members are living in North America and won't be as familiar with the Southampton port and parking.

For answers to your New York or New Jersey questions, BAK1061 is a wealth of knowledge shine he lives right there.

First of all, New Jersey is not 72 miles from NY. It’s actually right across the Hudson River. The QM 2 docks in Red Hook Terminal, in Brooklyn. Where are you going in New Jersey ? I grew up there, but now live in NY so I can probably help with that part of your question.

Sadly, you won’t experience the Statue of Liberty or Ellis Island while coming into NY. As I stated, the QM 2 docks in Brooklyn, which is beyond the mouth of the Hudson River.

I think that PaulPauline was asking about the parking at Southampton. Good reference though for planning a Bermuda cruise - Thanks.

To park at the terminal in NY for an extended period will cost $400 (11-30 day price.) The daily rate is $40 per day. Perhaps you can find a garage off site for less on the internet. Yes, if your daughter is on meds check with her doctor about seasick pills or a patch behind the ear. I agree, use Uber instead of a cab at the terminal. Can family pick you up? Call the cruise line to find out what time you can get to the port. Enjoy your cruise. Let us know how your cruise goes. Welcome to the site. We hope o hear more from you in the future.

Welcome to Cruiseline and congratulations on your first cruise!

My suggestion regarding your daughter and possible seasickness would be to consult with her physician. If she is taking other medications, you don't want to give her something that could interact with them. There are over-the-counter medications and prescription medications that your doctor can recommend that are very effective in controlling seasickness. Not everyone is prone to being seasick--I have to take Bonine every night, but my husband, kids, and grands never have a problem.

I can only help with #8. Use Uber instead of a taxi. Mist Airports have parking lots where Uber drivers wait. A taxi out of NY to Jersey will be expensive. Not to mention I don't trust taxi drivers especially if you are not familiar with the area. Uber will give you the predicted distance and cost before you agree.
