First sign of normal. NCL looks to drop pre cruise testing

Hey peeps, keep your eyes and ears open as it looks like some changes are coming down the tube. Looks like NCL is going to drop the pre cruise testing requirement starting Aug 01.

Suggest you read the article carefully..or check the NCL website itself as to how they explained their policy. ...any cruise departing from those countries listed requires precruise testing. But I don't think it matters going forward. I think the whole thing is a huge waste of time. The cruise industry got more negative publicity about covid than any other. Remember the "floating petri dishes"? and the months and months of shut downs? They'll do anything they can, or dance around the wording any way possible, or stop reporting altogether, to get back to biz as usual. Anybody who watches baseball, or NASCAR, or most recently, the WORLD TRACK AND FIELD CHAMPIONSHIPS can see for themselves what the public at large thinks of COVID, or the CDC etc etc. Those are American venues. I've caught pre-WORLD CUP qualifying matches in South America AND Europe...packed in by the hundreds of thousands...no masks..etc etc..The folks who got their shots got them, and some got boosters..the ones who didn't probably never will...There's folks dying of COVID every single day..sometimes it gets reported, mostly not. Close to being ignored actually. But let it happen on a cruise ship....whoa nelly!!!!

Departing from a US port isn't the issue - it's the individual ports of call. As long as any port that a ship visits requires testing, the requirement for pre-cruise testing will remain.

We've been thru this before...right here in this thread.,.starting 8/1 nothing has changed from the USA, Canada, or Greece. What you need to watch out for is various translations and interpretations leading you to believe alls well...well....it ain't, as the "numbers" will bear out...but who's counting anymore eh???

Looks interesting, but I don't know what it means.

Yes but.........

We have been 4 times poked as well. We just roll with the waves coming from big brother and use our head and common sense in between. It is about all that you can do.

Yeah,

My wife and I cancelled our scheduled 4th shot in May. We had planned to wait until the fall, then get both Covid & flu shots at the same time. Now with the latest subvariant BS.66 or whatever, we're reconsidering that plan.

We got 4 shots each, and now have to reconsider masks again, depending on where we're heading. And yet, we're cruising again soon anyway. I thought we were being jerked around since the beginning...now I'm sure of it. Stop publicizing the covid numbers (If they were ever to be believed anyway) and VOILA!!!! all cured......riiiiiiiight.....

Yeah ... have to still be careful as with the newest variants they say you can now be re-infected 4 weeks after having it. So much for immunity.
