"Failure to communicate"

I booked a cruise on the Princess website on a weekend because my personal TA was not available. On the following Monday I have it transferred over to my TA. In the past this has worked perfectly and usually within 24 hours.

This time however, it has not happened in nearly two weeks. Both my TA and I have attempted to contact Princess and when we can get through we have been given a two hour + wait with still no answers. They can't even tell us if they received the transfer request.

Princess has indicated that my account has numerous errors such as my state of residence, numerous different account numbers, inconsistent addresses for me and my wife although we have been at the same address for 18 years. My TA and I have been told that transfer requests can take two days, ten working days, two to three months etc. Who knows? It changes constantly.

How can you run a huge cruise line with no communication?

Princess, I and my TA can all quote Sgt. Schultz: " I know nothing"!

Latest Update: Anniversary celebration and final resolution. Today is day 30 in this saga.

This is our one month anniversary. It's time to celebrate! The transfer has been made today!

Someone mentioned contacting Jan Swartz. They had had good results. So I did just that yesterday morning via email to her. Yesterday afternoon I received a phone call from her representative. I received profuse apologies and an immediate transfer.

I hate to pull out the big guns but it did get the desired results and I do appreciate the

difficulties everyone is experiencing with all this Covid Carp, hiring and keeping good employees, etc.

Free virtual drinks for all my friends and supporters. Big Smile Time to cruise!

Hang in there man ... I suspect the TA will get results .. just a matter of what and when.

Update:

I just received a note from my TA to say that she had been on the phone for two hours yesterday with Princess again. Princess assured her that the transfer would be made and then the call was 'accidentally' disconnected. No call backs and no follow ups thereafter.

Still rooting for my TA and trying to find some semaphores.

Me too. But if it remains with Princess and doesn't get transferred, it is still a confirmed booking. My TA is the only one who loses.

In the future, if I need to book on a weekend, I'll just contact my TA's office and talk to a manager who will book and transfer to my individual agent on Monday.

I personally prefer booking with my TA. She does all the legwork, corrects/resolves problems and gives me extra perks for repeatedly booking with her. This is the first time that she cannot communicate with Princess for a resolution and transfer.

We still have a failure to communicate and it is no one's fault but Princess'. Just one more reason not to book directly with a cruise line in the future.

We always deal direct with PCP, Mike Mckeen.

Maybe my wife could do that. She was in the Navy and we are trying to communicate with a "cruise" line. It's worth a try. Nothing else works.

Princess: Tell me again about your great customer service!
