Email Notifications

When I first joined this forum, I would receive tons of emails every time someone commented etc. I went in and set my Email Notifications under my Profile Setting so this stopped. What is your preference on email?

I think I have the forum notifications turned off. The main site still sends an occasional email.

Guess I’m in the minority, but I really like the emails. Since this site doesn’t let you filter for topics you’ve participated in, I find the emails to be very helpful in prioritizing and streamlining my reading of the forum and reviews. However, the emails go to an address I use just for social media, so none of my “real” email gets buried and I only check them when I have time.

I turned off email notifications. I get too many emails as it is.

I turned iff the notifications and just check the site regularly.

No emails for me unless it's something I'm stuck on an answer for. Everything else I see pretty quickly since I'm on the site enough.

No e-mails unless it's something I really want to see answers to.

I don't get any emails except for the threads I start or when I post on someone else's. I like the feature--- "Notify me via email when someone responds" reason: (1) I don't post that much so it doesn't overload my in-box. (2) Without a notification that action is taking place on a thread I was interested in I would probably miss out since I don't check in for days on end, sometimes. (3) A lot of times the thread will be dormant for a month or more. Instead of starting an identical thread and expecting every previous posters to repeat, someone will resurrect it so its nice to have a heads up.

Yep. Me too.

I turn them all off..... after being on here a while it can be tons and tons of E-mails a day, enough to drive me more crazy then I am.

Many people post very vague reviews. Leaving open questions as to why they didn't like the ship, the food, the cabin etc. By just saying things like "the food sucked" tells me nothing. So I query these questions in a reply to the post. It does a reader of a review absolutely no good not to understand WHY the OP didn't like things on their cruise. For this, I have my settings to receive instant notifications to my replies. The good thing about cruiseline.com is they let you set the notifications to what you only want to get. (Notify me via email when someone responds below is checked ;) )
