I think that this is a good idea. Anything that helps people to cruise more is good for the industry and the passengers.

I think the "new" part is that you can set up an automatic monthly payment through Carnival with you cc company. That would not be convenient.for us, but some might find it helpful.

Yes, I was surprised that they call this new. We have been doing it on HAL for a few years now just not regimented like this. Our TA doesn't mind our monthly credit card payments that she makes on our behalf.

OK, I guess ?? I thought you could always pay something each month prior to the 'Final Payment Due Date' and be OK doing that. Of course, once in the final 60 or 90 days before departure, a full payment may be due at signing. I guess the Carnival program makes payments a little more structured. Good for folks that need it.

I set my own payment schedule and get it done by the final payment date.

Sometimes, it helps people to have a "pay schedule". I like to be able to pay on my own schedule, just so I get all paid before the "final payment" date. It is nice Carnival set a program for those that need it.

That information was emailed to past guests. Guests have always been able to pay in instalments if they wish to, but this "new" program sets specific dates to do it.

There have been many cruises I've passed over because I couldn't do one payment. This will open up options.
