Drink Package Thought...

I just had a thought, cruise lines should offer a drink package that you can choose how many days you want to be on it. Ie: if you know your in port 3 days of your 7, buy a drink package for 4 days? Does that not make sense?

Casino and Booze... Can't go wrong on either for profit. Casino as the house always wins. Booze the help the losers commiserate with each other.

WIN-WIN for the cruise line.

Ummm I would have to say booze be number 2 profit maker with casino being number one

I think the idea is fine, but the logistics and execution will be tough. Other than the fact booze is like the #1 profit maker for ships, It might be tough for the cruise company to "activate" the package on days 1,2, 5,and 7... One more easier thing would be # of drinks instead of days.

With all that, I still get the package and make sure I get the most of it daily... Dinner usually helps as I have at least 2 glasses of wine, then go to the casino or another bar...Yummy

Oh I agree that it is in the cruise lines best interest to do what they do but as a customer, it sucks and would make a lot of people happier!

I think that an idea that makes sense to the spender of the dollar, does not make any sense to the receiver of the dollar. Two complete different groups.

Makes sense but does not make the $$ for the cruise lines. The current plans are tailored the way they are for two reasons. Convenience for the cruiser and to make money for the cruise lines. I am pretty sure that if they were to offer a package as you suggest that the price structure would surely change. You would see the price go up for sea days and possibly drop a bit for port days. But then again that may even depend on the port. Some ports see more people staying on ship than other ports.
