Do you have a favorite memorory of a ship no longer in service ?

Do you have a favorite ship, (with favorite memories) that is no longer in service ?? For me, the Golden Odyssey of Royal Cruise Line (about 1981 or 1982). Deputy Director of the Cruise line sat at our table. We were wined and dined the whole cruise and treated as royalty. Only my second cruise, but this cruise made me a life-long cruise fan. The following cruise, the Deputy Director could not join us, but he informed the ship of our presence. Again, special treatment. To this day, my two Royal Cruise line cruises (Golden Odyssey and Royal Odyssey) ALWAYS bring happy memories. Opa !!!

I hope this posts smaller. My head is NOT this big. Discovered this yesterday in the basement looking for something else.

In addition, just answered AuntPinkie about the Yorktown Princess cruises. I see it has not posted yet. Hopefully it will.

AuntPinkie, Sorry for the delay, I missed your post. This is what I have found as of today:

NEW! Classic Canada & New England – Emerald Princess – 10 Days: From Québec (More Ashore overnight) to Boston, visiting Saguenay, Charlottetown (Prince Edward Island), Sydney (Cape Breton Island), Halifax, Saint John (for the Bay of Fundy) and Portland. Cruises depart September 7, 27, 2024.

NEW! Canada & Colonial America – Emerald Princess – 14 Days: From Ft. Lauderdale to Québec (More Ashore overnight) visiting Charleston, Yorktown, New York City, Newport, Boston, Sydney (Cape Breton Island) and Saguenay. Cruise departs June 19, 2024.

NEW! Canada & Colonial America – Emerald Princess – 14 Days: From Québec (More Ashore overnight) to Ft. Lauderdale, visiting Halifax, Portland, Boston, New York City, Yorktown and Charleston. Cruise departs October 17, 2024.

Options for guests wishing to spend more time exploring historic cities and monuments include two in-depth cruisetours, combining a scheduled 2024 cruise with multiple days on land, including:

Historic America Cruisetour – with seven nights on land guests visit U.S. Capital Washington D.C., Thomas Jefferson's Monticello estate, Colonial Williamsburg, Independence Hall in Philadelphia and the Gettysburg Battlefield.

I also read that the Island Princess (smaller ship) will visit Yorktown (+) for 10-11 day cruises on 6-4-24, 6-14-24, and 6-25-24.

Sorry. Had to add another memory.

35-years ago. Happy thoughts, from a long time ago.

Trying again! GIL155, do you know which Princess ship and/or dates are going on this itinerary?

I did burn my arm and it is very sore OldGreyWolf.

Mostly they don't speak English, and when they do, it isn't any form of English I'd recognize, or feel the need to engage them over. I have found, based on behind the scenes lurking and some amateur research, that the VAST majority of websites OF ALL TYPES aren't actively managed by whomever you think runs them. Problems are handed off in one format or another, to the aforementioned IT geeks, who like to refer to themselves as "engineers"....

Thanks @yankee47 - when you do see it (if it does show up) it will be a disastrous mess - on my end it looks like it posted multiple times and... Kindergartners have art projects that turn out better...

Post ranting comment - it was about my memory of being on Carnival Holiday. I'm sure of little interest to the general public, so maybe the IT Powers That Be really do more than we do. Wink

GIL...got email notification of your "UGH TECHNOLOGY" post...of course its not here...no matter...fwiw, I couldn't agree more. some folks can't live without it...I manage to keep it to a minimum...and mostly, when it doesn't work right...I shut it down, come back later...magically, its working, and i did nothing except ignore it......I'm told that might work for other pesky critters too..............

We are definitely considering this Princess cruise. It fits the things we really enjoy!
