My husband and I decided not to give each other gifts this Christmas but to book a cruise instead. We placed a deposit earlier on a cruise for next December instead on the new HAL ship, The Honingsdam. My husband did surprise me with a piece of jewelry anyway. He just couldn't resist,l he said.

Our 1st cruise in 2008 was paid for by my non husbands mother.
I go to my aunt and uncles ever other Saturday for dinner and sometimes in between so In 2013, I paid it forward to them. I got a really good bonus at work and cashed in a weeks worth of vacation time and I paid for them to go with us. It felt so good and the looks on their faces was priceless.
I gave my wife an Alaska cruise for our anniversary this year, but on the condition that she takes me with her
I love this idea! I've never been given a cruise before. I usually just gift myself . . . and my best friend. LOL! I'd definitely accept if someone gave me a cruise as a gift. :)
Yep, super bowl cruise on carnival Triumph
This is actually the gift that hubby and I give each other each year :)
How wonderful!
I would love to do that for my kids at some point. This year I did get each of them a Carnival gift card to put toward their final bill on our upcoming cruise.
Great idea!

no, but if you ever feel generous, I'll let you know when we are available
This is the gift that my wife and I do every year for each other. It takes away the struggle to find the "perfect" gift for each other.
I tend to do cruises for my B-day gift to myself. Nothing better then a B-day at sea with b-day dinner in the Steak House.
We have been booking cruises in lieu of gifts for Christmas, Birthdays and Anniversaries for years. It is a beautiful thing.
