Cruising

Just wondering what everybody thinks. When do you think we can start cruising?

Good question! I am hoping that the new start date indicated by Princess and Holland America of the end of March is accurate. Fingers crossed it won’t be later than that!

I Hope you're right.

From the current news looks like March or April. I'm sure if the virus is still going strong then the CDC will put a hold on it. I myself will probably not cruise until a vaccine is out and distributed to most people I'm thinking 2022.Crying

They can have all the "trial runs" they want...without me...unless a vaccine becomes as readily available as a flu shot and even then, there's millions of peeps who refuse vaccines period...let alone THIS one.....if it wasn't for schools requiring em, there'd be millions more.. This President is going to actually let the NIH and CDC do their jobs...mebbe 2nd qtr of 2021...mebbe....just wait until there's an outbreak no matter what the cruise lines try....

The 800 lb gorilla in the room is letting these ships sail with 1/4 capacity...no, you won't get the cabin you thought you booked...(watch your bookings CAREFULLY...its already happened)...and NO the cruise lines can't borrow anymore, and NO, they can't possibly make $$ sailing a fraction full.....we can debate just how much fun you can have under these restrictions later...some folks would cruise in a rowboat...

I just received an email yesterday informing me that holland America has canceled my 35 day northern European cruise for next year July 2021.

I Think they will be 1/3 to 1/2 full. Mostly I want to know if vaccines will be required.

I believe I read the vaccines will be required. By people boarding and the employees.

To me, getting a shot (or two) is better than some test....on several levels...of course, that implies some kind of "shot card"...I guess I'm dating myself, but what is old is new again....

Since we had to cancel ALL travel through to the end of 2021, we had hoped to sail again in Feb 2022. Well, that ain't gonna happen, sadly. As a huge precaution, the nurse in our family has been adamant about vaccines and the benefits of them. So it looks like we are moving everything to at least winter of 2022. On the plus side, more time to save money and the trip will be a full family affair, 10 to 12 people rewarding ourselves for two plus years a housebound staycations.....

Good to see that you have a nice positive outlook on this John. Hang in there man. Till we cruise again.
