Coffee on Carnival

Hey all, I am one who enjoys his coffee. I find the buffet coffee on most cruise ships terrible. On Princess i buy the coffee card.

How is the coffee on Carnival. i know they have a coffee bar, do they sell a card?

Do they have coffee machines on the Lido Deck that grind and brew a cup at a time? They had that on the Legend, but not the Valor. Otherwise I will bring my own coffee and pour-over filter.

I like Carnival's coffee.

If your hubby enjoys his coffee, I always take the Starbucks instant coffees with me as a back up. They are far better than most buffet coffee and the buffet always has hot water. I still prefer to find good brewed.

again thanks to all how responded.

Yes, first thanks Bubba54 for your post and to everyone who responded. My hubby is a coffee drinker, I am not. This is his first cruise and I want it to be the best experience possible! So having tips on the coffee will come in handy!

As always....y'all are the best!!!Wink

Thanks for the info on this thread. I am a big fan of (powdered) non-dairy creamer, and I've found it to be a great equalizer: It kind of overwhelms the really great flavor of really great coffee, but it also overwhelms the really bad flavor of really bad coffee. As long as I don't forget to bring my creamer with me, I find that I can be happy with anything that is peddled as coffee.

Elite get a mini bar set up in your cabin. If you choose you can turn the mini bar set up in for two coffee cards. Which i normally doHappy

DVCruise - bless your heart! Yes, I do know that. On the back of the coffee card (at least the older ones) the crew is SUPPOSED to write the ship/cruise # on the card making it good JUST for that one cruise. IF a cruise is written on the card, I turn those over to someone else the last day.

If ZERO identifications marks - Ye Ha ! - Good for the next cruise (I keep it - unless a family behind me is all teary eyed for coffee, or she is real cute). [I am a pig, I admit it].

P.S. I buy my coffee cards on eBay. I read somewhere here that Elites get free coffee cards. I have never received one for free. But I do have three old style cards - always accepted.

Thanks all, appreciate the info.

I too love the Princess Coffee Card but you may not know this ... the card is good on your next cruise... I've had cruises where I've burned through the whole card and others where I had punches left and use it on the next cruise ... the fine print on the card says it's okay to do that Happy

I know this has nothing to do with Carnival.

Like Bubba54 - we are believers in the Princess coffee card. Every cruise we use one card and if any punches are left over on the last day, I give the card to someone in line behind me, usually a family or at least a couple.

I really enjoy walking down to the International Cafe first thing in the morning talking to the crew and getting a specialty (mocha chocolate latte whatever) and taking them back to our cabin for coffee on the balcony. Sometimes, I get a nice thank you from my wife.

On the Royal class ships, they have a special coffee location at the Horizons Cafe (less walk, same benefits). Wink
