Carnival Vista Having Mechanical Issues

Carnival has given a decent (in my opinion) compensation to the passengers on board right now. Their itinerary changed again since this posting, they will only be able to go to Costa Maya and Cozumel, and the comps increased to $200.00 OBC and 50% off a future cruise plus a few other extras. I feel bad for the next sailing as theirs will be cut short by a day since this sailing is taking an extra day to return. Mine is the one after that, so fingers crossed that they figure out what the issue is and have it taken care of by the 29th. I will not worry about it until June 28th at midnight LOL And even then, i probably won't worry too much coz any cruise is better than no cruise!!

I think you'd be in the minority on that one. heheheheh

Lucky passengers!! We are lucky, as we live 32 miles from the galveston cruise ship terminal, and any extra days out at sea we would love it. Been on Vista once, loved it. We got a extra day in Progresso on Magic due to steering problems on its first voyage out of galveston. Spent the night on Liberty docked in galveston due to the same problems Vista has. Carnival moved Liberty to Florida and brought Valor in. We enjoy ship problems.

I Forgot to put that in my previous comment! Most sound advice anyone can give! its well worth the extra $$!

Insurance. Do not leave home without it.

Absolutely!! I always..always..always get it. Esp living in Texas where hurricanes, flooding etc.. are common. My hubby always gets irritated that i spend the extra, but really it isn't much and the peace of mind is worth it!!

Another good reason for travel insurance.

I know, i feel bad for them. And the ones losing a day on the next one.. Hotels and flights aren't cheap these days.

I hope they get it figured out and fixed soon.

I wouldnt complain about an extra day, however, I always book my flights for the day after I return. Those people flying out the same day the cruise was supposed to return are probably scrambling
