Carnival Vista Having Mechanical Issues

Carnival has given a decent (in my opinion) compensation to the passengers on board right now. Their itinerary changed again since this posting, they will only be able to go to Costa Maya and Cozumel, and the comps increased to $200.00 OBC and 50% off a future cruise plus a few other extras. I feel bad for the next sailing as theirs will be cut short by a day since this sailing is taking an extra day to return. Mine is the one after that, so fingers crossed that they figure out what the issue is and have it taken care of by the 29th. I will not worry about it until June 28th at midnight LOL And even then, i probably won't worry too much coz any cruise is better than no cruise!!

I wouldnt complain about an extra day, however, I always book my flights for the day after I return. Those people flying out the same day the cruise was supposed to return are probably scrambling

I know, i feel bad for them. And the ones losing a day on the next one.. Hotels and flights aren't cheap these days.

I hope they get it figured out and fixed soon.

Another good reason for travel insurance.

Absolutely!! I always..always..always get it. Esp living in Texas where hurricanes, flooding etc.. are common. My hubby always gets irritated that i spend the extra, but really it isn't much and the peace of mind is worth it!!

Insurance. Do not leave home without it.

I Forgot to put that in my previous comment! Most sound advice anyone can give! its well worth the extra $$!

Lucky passengers!! We are lucky, as we live 32 miles from the galveston cruise ship terminal, and any extra days out at sea we would love it. Been on Vista once, loved it. We got a extra day in Progresso on Magic due to steering problems on its first voyage out of galveston. Spent the night on Liberty docked in galveston due to the same problems Vista has. Carnival moved Liberty to Florida and brought Valor in. We enjoy ship problems.

I think you'd be in the minority on that one. heheheheh

Hi Neighbor! We are a bit further away but not much (Tomball area).. We have never encountered any technical issues on our cruses, but I can see where the extra day of relaxation would be nice. I just know the people who traveled here from far away by plane, train or automobile are probably not the happiest of campers, errr cruisers. I am usually a big worry wart when it comes to travel, but for some reason this time I am not. I know it's out of my hands and it will get sussed out eventually. My husband is now overthinking scenarios in his head and is driving me crazy. He just needs a good fruity adult beverage by the pool after a nice lunch on the lido. Happy

Well I got the official email from Carnival letting us know the itinerary has changed..and I am totally OK with it. We get all of the comps the other cruses did, and I get an extra sea day. I think they gave our ships sailing plenty of notice to change plans, cancel etc. I am bummed abut not going to grand cayman but the 50% a future cruise can help that..
