Carnival Vista Having Mechanical Issues

Carnival has given a decent (in my opinion) compensation to the passengers on board right now. Their itinerary changed again since this posting, they will only be able to go to Costa Maya and Cozumel, and the comps increased to $200.00 OBC and 50% off a future cruise plus a few other extras. I feel bad for the next sailing as theirs will be cut short by a day since this sailing is taking an extra day to return. Mine is the one after that, so fingers crossed that they figure out what the issue is and have it taken care of by the 29th. I will not worry about it until June 28th at midnight LOL And even then, i probably won't worry too much coz any cruise is better than no cruise!!

Maybe! I am going to send him a note on Facebook and ask if there is anything he can do for my mom #2 (step mom) she is retiring from her job today so the cruise is to help celebrate that. I've had friends get little things sent to their rooms.. can't hurt to ask!

Maybe you'll get some extra fun things with him on board....Surprised

Oh i know!! Trust me.. Murphy, as in Murphy's Law is like my brother.. thankfully Murphy stayed home and we had an amazing trip and couldn't wait to sail again.

Must I say it?...guess so...wait for it....ahem....."famous last words!!…" thankyou, no need to applaud, all in a days work...heheheh

I am sure all of the 2K people on the ship were about to poop their pants!! We sailed on the Magic several months after the "poop cruise" and we were a bit worried but since it was a different ship altogether, we figured it couldn't possibly happen again to a newer ship

Yes, our friends aren't sailing until December and they even got the email. I guess we are lucky... as long as the issue does not worsen that is.

They just announced that John Heald will be on our sailing.. I am sure he will be bombarded with all the upset people. I feel that if you are still upset and set foot on the ship, you are null and void to any complaints.

I saw today a story that the next 3 cruises have been cancelled entirely due to this issue.

OUCH!

I've told this story b4...NOW its funny...more or less...at the time, it wasn't. The TRIUMPH had the original cruise from hell...the infamous "poop" cruise where it broke down for days on end and nothing worked. ship drifting.. no electricity...CARNIVAL lost several millions on it, and made a big deal of fixing it. We don't usually cruise CARNY, but we wanted to stick in another cruise that year, and it just so happened that TRIUMPH was back in service, and leaving from one of the two ports we always use, and the dates worked, sooooo…..I figured it HAD to be the most mechanically fixed ship around, so we booked it. Besides, I'm just a contrary, adventurous type.. Mid afternoon. couple days in..pfffft! lights blinked, ship went silent. We looked at each other. I swear you could hear/feel mebbe 2k peeps saying "oh s$#t" all at the same time. Course her head swiveled and looked at me but b4 she could actually say the appropriate unmentionables, everything came back on...and stayed that way the remainder of the cruise. No idea what happened, but it was the topic of conversation no matter where we went onboard. Personally, I didn't want to talk about it, bad karma y'know.

As soon as my hubby gets over the anxiety of the change I will talk to him about booking another. Poor guy is stressing because of the extra day. I get it, but there will be plenty for us to do. I would have thought he would be worried about it breaking down more than anything. He is the type of person who has to always do something. It's very hard for him to stop and do nothing.

A friend of ours sent me a message this morning that they have canceled the 3 sailings after ours to fix the issue. They don't sail until December but she still got an email about it. It is nice to see they are fixing it, and letting people know well in advance as well.

October 2020 we have a B2B scheduled on the Carnival Breeze (remember you have 50% off): 8 day Eastern October 10th & 6 day October 18. We have two tries at Grand Turk so we should be able to stop there at least one of them.Wink
