Thanks in Advance

A sweater with detachable fur (as pictured by my profile) is great for Alaska because the fur can be unbuttoned and removed as needed. I took an old puffy coat that I put in one of those vacuum bags to conserve space - gave it to the Uber driver when I got back to Seattle. (I don't live in a cold climate anymore so no need for it) Princess handed out hot Cocoa and blankets during the Inside Passage!

We sailed to Alaska 4 years ago over Labor Day and I did not have anything to keep my ears warm when on deck. The sun was shining bet the ship is moving and I had to inside to warm up a bit. Yes, it is a backward experience from the Caribbean, where you go inside to cool off.

So be sure to bring earmuffs, wide headband or whatever will keep your ears warm. The only time I didn't pack enough!

I feel ya! I would in a heart beat because it is beautiful (So i've been told), but love my sun and surf.

A hat or ear muffs is essential when up on deck ... wouldn't have enjoyed the glaciers as much with the wind blowing and chilly temperature.

Alaska is my bucket list too... I decided on my lunch break I need to start investigating and deciding which line is best, which itinerary and then go from there.

Great information. I have been kicking around an Alaskan cruise but not sure since I don't really like the cold and prefer the sun and sand. Then on the other hand, how else am I going to get my Artic Circle Certificate? Wink

Carnival Legend! Alaska is a bucket list item and we are very excited to spend out anniversary there!

Not to get nosy, Toontes, but what line are you on? We are on Celebrity departing Seattle on 8/26.

Seattle to Seattle. Sounds like Mid-Westerners will do just fine if we plan on layering clothing. Thank you for your input! Big Smile
