1st Cruise after covid....what are your thoughts?

We are cruising for the 1st time since covid. We are excited and kinda worried all at the same time. we're wondering what has changed what stayed the same. How are things different now? What were your experiences???

Just returned from a B2B. Things seem to be improving. While the food wasn't spectacular, it was good and the correct temperature. Service seemed better than this time last year. No one seemed concerned about those who chose to wear a mask and those who did not (fewer with masks). The food portions are smaller, but that's been happening for a while now. We had more than enough on our plates. Elevators were still packed and social distancing is NOT a thing. Some shops have signs requesting you wear a mask in some ports, but they are actually ignored by locals and passengers.

Enjoy your cruise.

Couldn't agree more - we've cruised several times "post covid" with testing/masks 100% required to no requirements/anything goes.

Prices are getting outrageous for new bookings, so I'm with you that new bookings for us are likely not happening - I haven't received free casino rate since my last booking.

The constant positive has been crew service - they are busting their *** and give great service with awesome attitude. They deserve any extra tip you can comfortably give.

All the ships we've been on are constantly being cleaned, but still wiping things in your cabin is a good idea & using spray, as well as doing whatever you're comfortable with (mask/don't mask) but do use hand sanitizer (please - for more than just covid reasons). Nobody seemed to judge those with or w/o masks.

Ships are definitely full again, lines are long and patience seems to be thinning, but if you do what you're comfortable with, you should have a great time.

Last month Mexican Riviera cruise an entire run of cabins was blocked off due to quarantine - kinda creepy.

Certainly do..saw on BLOOMBERG this am that NCL is offering junk bonds to refi tons of debt coming due. they will be paying that off for generations, literally...IF they survive...bigger companies than them didn't manage it...

Well said...you and others who have "resumed"...no one even blinks at folks who chose to mask...is there a risk? yeh...but we voted with our feet and checkbook several times already...we brought masks, and some wipe things for the cabin (like the phone, and the tv remote...for all the good it really does)) but mainly, we're cruising again...the only thing that irks me is the "pay more for less" thing...but that is really between you and the face in the mirror....or you and your partner in crime...

In everything we chose to do, whether it's shopping, travelling working, the way to show your support or displeasure is with your wallet.

If the cruise lines "chose" to do less for more, than don't support the line.

The P&L statements carry more weight than one persons opinion.

We are getting things in order for our first cruise since 2020 January.

My wife has been on a cruise as have my son and his family and our ex daughter-in -law.

with common sense precautions in place and your own choices for masking and distancing all should be good.

Should you feel you need to mask up, then go ahead.

Personally, I can't wait to get back to cruising again. I do recall that in our previous cruising Pre-Covid, we encountered passengers and crew who wore masks. I did not think much of it as I've experience many times at home or shopping that certain cultures wear them, especially from the Asia regions. So, I'm going to go with " To each Their Own...."

Thanks for the heads up everyone. Our cruise is a few months out and I'm hoping nothing changes between now and then. We use to have cruises lined up, now we try not to plan too far out. We're bringing our medicine kit and clorox wipes and take common sense precautions. It would suck big time to get sick on vacation.

I like the Antiguan rum, Cavalier. Used to be like 6 bucks.

I just completed my first - post COVID cruise. Most everyone was mask free. Those that wore masks were not singled out, nor ridiculed. Everyone has their own choice. My ship was only half full being the week immediately before Christmas. I detected few differences from my previous pre-COVID cruises. As others have mentioned, the crew are SO VERY thankful we are on-board.

IMO - when you go, do what you feel comfortable doing. No matter the time, nor the year, there is always something (or someone) that could negatively impact you. Relax, enjoy, and have a great time. YOUR memories are what will make the cruise positive, or less than positive (Mine was terrific !!)

Gotta keep those priorities in order.
