i would encourage first time cruisers on the ship! it’s a good introduction to cursing. it’s not as bad as carnival and it’s not ass good as luxury lines but it’s a good in the middle cruise ship. the ship is beautiful but the food is mediocre (but if it’s your first time you would love it). I would suggest to just explore the ship and get on the helicopter pad when sailing away (it will most likely be closed on sea days and all other occasions so enjoy it while it’s open). make sure to take advantage of the solarium seating and check out the aft of the ship where the surfing simulator is! ride the water slides, walk the promenade! attend a show! be a kid, have fun:)) this ship is not as laid back and quite as other princess or other lines but it’s fun for the family. get a slice of pizza in the promenade (it’s always bustling down there at 11-12 at night. do the silent disco, use the jacuzzis!

It is a good, safe ship. The internet is poor and don't expect anything to indicate what country you are visiting.

Don’t waste your money on KEY upgrade, pre-paid arcade or prebookung a spa treatment. Kids absolutely do not sail free.

Use the app and plan for the activities you want. Use the free chat in the app to communicate with your group. If you like the flow rider and waterslides take a wet suit jacket on the chillier times of the year.

Very crowded cruise ship. If you prefer not to cruise with a LOT of kids, don't book during holidays, typical school vacations like summer or like we did, during a great bargain cruise. Parents will take their children out of school and bring on a discounted cruise

It felt like we got as much mileage as we could from this part of the world by doing 3 stops. I arranged excursions myself (not via Royal) for snorkeling/kayaking in Cabo and ziplining in Puerto Vallarta. No issues with either of them and we were able to save a little money and include our 10-year old daughter (who would not have been allowed on some of the Royal offerings). I did a ton of research and managed our own walking and Stone Island tour in Mazatlán. It would have been great to get a little more info about the highlights of each stop from Royal, but this might have been included in our online daily “compass” which I truthfully never checked. For Cabo, I got in line for tender tickets about 45 minutes early and was able to get in group 1. Not sure if that was necessary but I didn’t know how long the tender process would take and I didn’t want to miss our excursion.

Bring your own food and know in advance that disabled will wait in lines with everyone else and because of being disabled prepare to not being able to get on the lift until the people that are able bodied desire to be kind. Prepare to get passed over by ship personnel and they won’t bring a wheelchair assist for getting on or off the ship so be prepared to sit in line a lot and having everyone go past you and say nasty things. Prepare to handle your own luggage and do not ever expect help of any kind because the people that work on this cruise ship seem to be over their jobs. Prepare to have to defend your action of sitting down when leaving the ship as the crew will bark at you to get up and keep moving. Don’t allow them To bully you! No ship is worth a fall or worse a heart attack because of snapping crew members. .

Its great one time, but to us the cost wasn't worth it. Royal gives you a nice ship. Carnival is more personalized and gives you more for less money.

Manage expectations…this is not a luxury ship. Do that, and you’ll have a great time. Skip the shows and relax in the tiki bar.
