Cruise past Alaskan glaciers, motor through the Panama Canal, or explore faraway lands aboard Island Princess. Specially engineered to comply with the Panama Canal's strict regulations, this Panamax-size cruise ship gives travelers an opportunity to see amazing sights around the globe.

Since 2003, this Coral-class ship from Princess Cruises has earned a loyal following among the line's core audience of mature couples. Island also appeals to first-time cruisers seeking a small-ship experience with diverse big-ship amenities. The ship has an excellent selection of dining, entertainment, and activities. Whether you prefer casual fare or gourmet cuisine, there's something for you. Options range from poolside burgers and dogs to classic specialty options like Sabatini's Italian Trattoria and the Bayou Cafe & Steakhouse, which is one of the fleet's most unique restaurants.

Island Princess' onboard entertainment is just as diverse. Choose from outdoor Movies Under the Stars, Broadway-style musicals, and stage shows featuring golden oldies. If you prefer live bands and stand-up, grab a seat at Crooners, a '60s-style nightclub, or visit Explorers Lounge, a hot spot for guest performances.

On Island Princess, there's so much to do besides lounging by the freshwater pool or relaxing in the adults-only Sanctuary. Enrich your experience and learn more about the ports that you'll be visiting during a destination lecture, cooking demo, or wine tasting. Although it’s primarily an adults-oriented ship, it has an evolving selection of kids' activities offered through the Treehouse, Lodge, and Beach House.

If you need another reason to consider Princess Cruises, the line provides an array of premium amenities, including the Princess Luxury Bed, complimentary room service, MedallionClass connectivity, and Club Class perks available to mini-suite guests. Best of all, this Princess ship sails to extraordinary destinations around the globe.

Wonderful Trip & did a fine job! by gjgeswein

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Island Princess

If you want to tour the Panama Canal this is the ship & cruise to take. The ship is small & able to go through the original canal. At the time we went through water levels were low & only 50% of the ships could go through the canal. We were allowed to go.

Choose the early dinner seating and ask to share table with at least 4 other guests. You will make new friends and spend the dining time sharing experiences. Take a shawl (or dress warmer) when dining. Don't miss any of the shows and get your seat 30 minutes early to be able to get a seat.
