Review summary

Good to be back on HAL for the first time in 3 yrs

Embarkation

3 out of 5
Embarkation was slow due to three ships in San Diego at the same time. We had to keep our luggage with us until we were almost at security. We were able to get on the ship by noon.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
The dining room food was excellent throughout the trip. We were disappointed that lobster is no longer offered on Gala nights. Pinnacle Grill was also a disappointment as the food in the main dining room was better.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
We loved the BB King Blues club band and several comedians we saw on the ship. During the Sea Days we missed having the cooking demos from Americas Test Kitchen.

Ship tip

Enjoy your meals in the main dining room and go see the BB King band.

Ports of call

Cabo San Lucas, Mexico

5 out of 5
Cabo is always fun. We had fish tacos at the Eco bar and got massages on the beach. $50 for 90 minutes.

Puerto Vallarta, Mexico

We did an excursion to Las Caletas beach. I highly recommend this one- food, open bar, snorkeling and activities from the beach.

Pichilingue (La Paz), Mexico

5 out of 5
This was a new port for us. We took the complimentary shuttle to Tecolote beach. Restaurants, beach chairs and crystal clear water.

Loreto, Mexico

New port for us. Very quaint town. Walkable from the ship. There were musical performances around the cathedral. Good food too!

Appreciate your feedback. Sorry to hear that embarkation was a mess, but that’s the sign of the times. Glad you enjoyed your cruise!
