I was not a fan of eating on the Lido deck-open eating. Good temperature was poorly controlled.

Attended movies , musical performances trivia etc. enjoyed them. Only con is that repetitive nature. Same shows at same times. So if you went to dine at 5:30, you would always miss 6pm happy hour.

You definitely did not do any research on the ship before booking or after not even a minute into it you would have known Holland ships do have an older passenger crowd. We were on Nieuw Amsterdam in 2018 and loved it. Not a lot to do on the ship during the day but that’s what the ports are for. Our cabin steward was fantastic. Called us by name everytime he saw us and asked how are days were in port. Cabin always spotless and never had to ask for anything. The buffet staff was the most friendliest of any cruise we’ve been on, always happy to help and smiling. Loved how they serve you at the buffet. Food was absolutely delicious everywhere. And best burgers we ever had at the Dive In. Sitting around the pool was so relaxing. No loud bands or DJ’s . Piped in music was great. Loved it. Would definitely go again.
